Dark floor in small bathroom wrong??
Comments (5)I have a powder room with dark gray/silver/charcoal/black Ostrich Gray Slate floors, white fixtures, white trim, white walls. I absolutely love the look. Personally, I'd probably keep the walls a lighter color, but white is certainly not a necessity. I think you'll be fine with dark floors....See MoreRecommend dark chocolate / espresso color for my bathroom cabinet
Comments (4)Yup :) Sherwin williams paint is my favorite. I used their "Woodsey Brown" originally for a nice dark chocolate...I'd say a rich warm milk chocolate on the dark side...then I discovered the best chocolate paint on earth...have them mix you woodsey brown and then mix (they'll do it) an equal amount of woodsey brown with black. You get a very dark and rich TRUE dark chocolate color. Here are a few pics (all of my trim is done in this mix): (yes the door needs another coat of paint): Most of those are mid construction photo's so they're a bit messy, but you can see the color in different lights. It's gorgeous with soft tan tones (I have it with parchment on my ceilings) and it's in my chocolate and latte master bath as well :)...See MoreDark countertops in bathroom - Please Help!
Comments (20)Hi Saher Ali- The color marble and the tile go beautifully together! Here is a question though- Marble does stain and etch. Will this bathroom be used to put on beauty/toiletry products on a regular basis? Things do spill. You can use something else that will give you the marble look but that won't have the problems marble does, such as Corian. Here is another thought- I think a slab front cabinet will give you the clean modern look you want much better than the shaker front. Have a look around the internet and you will see. Will you be using the tile shown in the photo of the North Perth bathroom on your floor? If so, that is great. The other floor tile you showed looks more in the tan family and doesn't go as well with the grey/black tones of your marble....See MoreTiny, dark bathroom help?
Comments (7)This bathroom is small enough that I'm not sure it actually meets modern code (e.g., 24" of clearance in front of toilet bowl), so don't change anything big. I'd take down all the tile, if possible and just put tile on the floor (and drywall on the walls). Then a new sink -- maybe a modern wall-hugger rather than trying to squeeze in a vanity -- and paint everything light and bright, with lots of good lights too. I'd follow the stained glass for accents, say gold and pale pink, but really if you can find some art that you like, that's a better guide too. Here are a few ideas: Have fun, and good luck!...See Moretibbrix
