Planting peas for fall harvest?

Tabatha Thompson
8 years ago

I'd like to try growing peas here in southern Kentucky (zone 6b) for fall harvest. I was thinking about planting them in, say, early September? The varieties I'd be growing are;

Super Sugar Snap (64 days)

Little SnapPea crunch (58-60 days)

Snowbird (58 days)

Oregon Sugar Pod II (68 days)

Does anyone in this zone have experience growing them in the fall? I know (now, as it's my first year growing anything) that peas are a spring crop. I'd just like to give it a shot.

Thanks!
