Sarracenia Purpurea Bog Garden-- Help

Hi all,

I live in Long Branch, New Jersey and have been growing CPs for some time. I've decided to make an outdoor bog garden for my sarracenia purpurea and would appreciate any advice you can give.

I bought a 15'' wide and 8.5'' deep plastic tub. I'd like to plant it in the ground using only peat moss. I've heard many different views on providing drainage for sarracenia, and this is my biggest concern. The tub I bought has no holes or any draining mechanisms and I'd like to know whether something should be done about this. Should I drill holes? (Wouldn't that allow surrounding nutritious soil to seep in?) Should I put rocks or gravel on the bottom layer? Can I just fill up the tub with moisturized peat moss and proceed directly to planting? How deep in the ground should I put the tub?

This is my first post on this forum and I'd really appreciate any advice you can offer. Thanks in advance.
