Only time will tell. Where did you buy them? Don't use eBay for CP seeds, a LOT of people get ripped off with non CP seeds.

I was also suspicious when I saw "Nepenthes purpurea". I don't know all their names but I don't think I've come across that variety being mentioned by the other CP message boards or discussions. However, the main concern is not that name since there may indeed be such a plant name, but that fact that it germinated in 5 days.

Just keep an eye on it and it will be interesting to see what plant you actually did get.

There is no such species called Nepenthes purpurea, but there is a Sarracenia purpurea. Sarracenia purpurea is commonly called purple pitcher plant and is endemic here in the US, growing in the eastern cost of the US and most of Canada. If the seeds you purchased was roughly bean shape & not hair-like. Then you have bought purple pitcher plant seeds.

On ebay, there are some sellers that will confuse the name of the plants or seed they sell. One name that popped up recently is Nepenthes like Utricularia! And to my edxpereince, what they sell are not carnivorous plant seed. I had one seller mail me dried up male nepenthes flowers, with the claim they were seed pods. You can image the argument that resulted.

Fresh seeds can germinate in some weeks, but these seedlings are suspicious.

If in the end these aren't Nepenthes seedlings please inform ebay. I'm tired of seeing sellers offering impossible seeds even from registered hybrids. There is a bunch of them, in the case of nepenthes seeds in particular the accounts are all from Italy for some reason.
