Repairing finish on dresser without completely refinishing
Comments (1)Wood stain pens are a better choice than a Sharpie. I believe Minwax has a line of them. They come in a number of colors and go on much more thinly; you can "feather" them to blend and add additional layers to get the color darker. Most paint stores and the big-box home stores carry them....See MoreWhich finish/sheen for dresser - top and the rest
Comments (8)If I remember the baby years.....and believe me I do!....the top of that changing table will be wiped and wiped.... I would do a semi gloss.....and If I remember....with all the wiping the semi gloss...shined up! But in the grand scheme, the first time your precious babe throws up, all concerns about matching degrees of gloss or matte will become monumentally unimportant. So....do whatever is easy and pretty well bullet proof....See MoreNeed opinion re: My finished project - striped dresser
Comments (34)I think that it's wonderful! In fact I began painting a bureau in my MBR (not the one that I wanted to paint black) turquoise to coordinate w/ new bedding I just got. I couldn't justify buying more paint so I randomly began sampling cast off qts. in my basement & ended up coming across 2 that looked so good together that I decided to paint stripes on the bureau. Then I remembered your post. I'm painting my stripes (deep teal & dusty turquoise) today I hope & DH is getting me black glass knobs for it. Thanks for the sublminal inspiration!...See MoreRefinish/paint dresser with formica top
Comments (7)If this is your first time, just be extra careful. Follow all instructions. Both the table and veneer were maple. I stripped and sanded the entire table so everything matched. The veneer comes in 4' x 8' sheets (or smaller) so I rough cut to size. Follow the instruction on the contact cement to the letter! Place the veneer on the table top. Roll with a roller thingy. Use a razor blade to trim CAREFULLY. I've always bought my veneer at lumber stores that carry exotic hardwoods. You can order online also. http://www.oakwoodveneer.com/wood-veneer-species.html Helpful tips. http://www.oakwoodveneer.com/tips.html Here is a link that might be useful: Veneer Roller...See MoreRelated Professionals
