I am redoing our bathroom and the first set of photos show our work. Though if you scroll down the post you will see the first bathroom we did. It is grey brown, the floor is slate and the shower base is granite. So the walls play lightly with those colors. I would add a photo in this message, but I cannot figure out how to do that. At work, in our newly designed building, the committee picked dark grey and light grey. We have steel cabinets and the panels are a lighter grey. I found that I liked the pale icy blue with dark green against those two. Silver looks really great with it all. My boss, on the other hand, loves warm colors. His office has deep blue velvet couch and chairs. His Persian rug is a deep burgundy with touches of lighter green and a tanish orange. He has light oak furniture and it all pulls together well. I decided that grey makes a great "back drop" and whichever palate you use shines well. I'd have the pale blue, nickel and a "stronger color" (in this case grey is the neutral) to stand up against it all. Or the tan, mint green plus the "stronger color". Otherwise, it's all too matched and doesn't have the same punch. Just what's worked for us here.

Thanks! I agree the blue looks really nice- that is one of the contenders though I was thinking of a paler blue. I am now of course having strong second thoughts that I probably should have painted the vanity dark dark brown. I dont think I have it in me to re-paint it now. I think the pale blue with the grey and white can look very spa-like as someone suggested........Threegrad- what finish is the light fixture over the mirror? It looks really nice, and I am noticing that it looks orb-ish and it still seems to go very nicely with the other silver tones in the bath(faucets and hardware)... is it orb or is it the monitor messing with me?

@Jan Moyer Thank you for the information! This bathroom is also gorgeous!! I am happy to report that I have all my final selections made (besides paint). I have lived with my tile samples a few days and I will be going with a 12 x 24 dolomite look porcelain for the bathroom floor and shower walls. The shower floor will be a 1 inch hexagon mosaic that coordinates with the 12 x 24. I also have my sample of the vanity which is listed as "graphite." I am going to do the top of the shower bench, shower curb, and vanity countertop in white quartz which has a slight gray speckle to it if you look really closely. I didn't like the veining of the faux marble quartz and thought it would clash too much with the dolomite look in the shower. I am attaching a photo of the samples for reference. In person the tile looks like it has a taupe or greige vein to it. Do you have any BM suggestions with all of this? I definitely want something on the lighter/white side. I will also have recessed lighting and an LED medicine cabinet with polished chrome faucet and shower fixtures. The sink and toilet are both Kohler white. Thank you again!
