Help some college students understand gardening a little more...
Comments (1)If you will check in the upper part of this page, under the dark part, there is a space that says: Return to the Tool Shed Forum. Then go to: Other Forums. Poke that, then scroll the next page, and look for whatever it is that you seek. This part isn't the only place to get info, here. They have a zillion ways there to get info. This is mainly for Lawn tractors, mowers, tools, etc. You just have to navigate thru the other parts But, have patience-somebody may have the info you seek. Just thought i'd try to help! by: Rustyj...See MoreMore pictures around my little garden(not for dial-up users!)
Comments (11)Probably 200 plants are from Bob at Coenosiums. I've found his selection of miniature and dwarves to be astounding and since he's a small trip down I-5, irressitible. I've acquired about 400 plants from S&S - about 150 to my landscaping co-workers, 50 in the neighborhood common spaces and 200 amongst my different beds. I still have about 50 that I basically have no space for - mostly the large, monster types that are potted in 3-5 Gal pots awaiting a permanent home. They may turn into gifts as well for friends and family. I've spread about 20 each of Picea pungens 'The Blues' and Picea eng. 'Bush's Lace' around already, they are much too beautiful to not be planted en masses. Up to 1350 conifers and 380-something Japanese maples though at least 300-400 are still in pots. My OCD is pretty strong(understatement?), so I guess there are a lot worse things I could be addicted to. Thank you for all the compliments and suggestions, Will...See MoreSome more from my garden May 29
Comments (6)Thanks, Alexa!! I will probably wind up getting it, mostly because the little girl next door is named 'Savannah'! Someone has offered me a piece of the hosta named 'Savannah' to give to her and I'd like to have the 'supreme version' as well, to have in memory of her and to share with her later on when she is older and TOTALLY obsessed with hosta, herself. I'll keep it on my list--for next year--since you recommended it as one nice to have in the garden. I'd love to have a fertile streaker of some kind--but that will have to be next year or the year after, when I feel that the only hosta to buy is one to replace something else, since I am REALLY running out of space!! I've been eyeing 'Galaxy' as the one to consider getting--it IS supposed to be fertile, right? Is it wrong to entice a 10-yr. old to love hosta like WE DO??? I guess there are worse things for her to become addicted to, right?...See MoreSome more Spring Roses from my Garden
Comments (16)Thanks again to everyone for your very nice and encouraging comments. Always makes me want to improve as a gardener! hoovb. If I have enabled Y O U to a rose, I guess that would make me a Rosarian ;-)! I have to admit you are one of my garden idols! Carol, for some reasons Iceberg roses simply love Southern California and all the rain that we had this year has just let them explode into the spring flush. Beth, I am glad that you like my photos. As for the scrub jays, I don't recall seeing them the first two years that we have been here, but this winter suddenly they showed up at the feeder. Masha, I am always happy if someone likes my "White Bed". I guess there are people, who think it is just plain boring or too monotone, but I like to experiment with the nuances of white and find it very exciting! Krista, thank you so much for your wonderful compliment, that is rather flattering! I didn't know that your Mme. Ernest Calvat is also so young. It might be interesting to compare how our roses are doing in the very different climates that we are gardening in. Serena, it is always nice to have bird guests in the garden, isn't it? You have a very eloquent way to use words "Even Lady Guadalupe shows sheer elegance the way you portrayed her", thanks for saying that! Florence, it gives me joy that you like my garden! Christina...See MoreVansunny_BC 7b F
