Help me design a front door and entry for this house, please
Comments (8)Ooooh! I love the one AndiK posted. My idea is similar...couldn't find a photo, so I worked it up in my design software. It's just the interior elevation looking toward the door of the ante room so you'll have to imagine being able to see through the glass to your front door. If I find a photo, I'll post it later. I think I recall there being a nice door set up for the ante room in the movie Uncle Buck starring John Candy & McCaulay Culkin. I looked for a photo online of it with no luck, but you could probably rent the movie and check it out first hand. I thought the Home Alone movie house had one, but while they had the ante toom, alas there was no door on it--just a cased doorway. Hope this helps! Keep us posted on what you decide!...See MoreHelp me downsize my office, please
Comments (39)Thanks, everyone. I don't know why but for some reason I haven't been able to post to this thread today, although it works elsewhere in GW. Let's see if I can now. Thanks so much for persevering with this, lascatx. It's very sweet of you, and no problem at all about the "out of stock". It's well hidden on most pages; I only know where to look because I've been running into it so much lately on my quest. The C&B Incognito was by far the best of these small cabinets by all accounts, but alas it only exists now in this knockoff: http://www.amazon.com/Proman-Products-Incognito-Compack-Office/dp/B0052O7SJK which is definitely on my desperation list. The Newman is very cool but I see that more as a wonderful solution for someone who uses a laptop without an external monitor. I agree that a rollout could be arranged for the printer, but my concern is that if I could fit my monitor on it (it's less than 18" deep), I'd be looking up so far to see it. Laughable, yes, having something made is an option, but I'd have to do a lot of looking for a cabinetmaker, because I'm pretty sure that the guys I know would give me something that looked like a kitchen cabinet that somehow managed to escape the herd. :) Here goes. Let's see if it posts this time....See MorePlease help me "paint" my front entry door!
Comments (64)I don't like wreaths - but I would get a much larger door mat, or even an outdoor rug that covers much of the doorstep. If you can find one, choose a solid color or simple pattern ( to stay with the theme of solid door, simple bold stripe)...See MoreMoving-in, please help arranging my new LR/Office/FR
Comments (67)@ital mover @bluemarble @aprilneverends Here is the photo of the painted office. Though it's gray to match the first-floor paint, it looks much more inviting than before. I placed the gray green/ beige rug and brought the green plants in. I hung the NASA posters and left the other walls empty. I have the seascape oils and ladies waiting for their proper space in the house :0) @bluemarble I also just updated the bedroom thread that you asked about ;) TY for following up. Cheers to you all....See Moreekc3502
