My roses seem to be taking a breather between blooming cycles, so I guess I'll have to content myself with enjoying your roses--not hard to do when the pics include such a lovely Peace rose--and of course our favorite sunshiny yellow Berolina. It always seems like such a "happy" rose to me.

Mike and Jain, thanks for your comments, glad you liked the photos! I got all of these from a friend who had moved into a new house where she and her hubby (not gardeners) were going to bulldoze an old neglected perennial bed. I got quite a few treasures out of that deal, including the iron rams that I painted and mounted on the fence rail - those were apparently used for target practice! Needless to say, I was thrilled to rescue all these beautiful plants.

I am having so much fun growing roses, I never liked gardening at all until I started with the roses last spring and now it is nice to see the rewards from all of that hard work! jaceysgranny -- thanks! I am really enjoying monkey business, I mainly bought it because I thought my kids would get a kick out of the name and I was intrigued by the "licorice" scent that was mentioned when I bought it (although I haven't really noticed it yet) Sara-Ann -- if I were to only have one striped one it would be Rock n Roll, I am just so impressed with the blooms and the rich colors. Give it a try and I think you'll love it too! Ingrid -- thank you for the compliments! RCT is great, I believe it was introduced in Europe under another name. My Julio bush is not that big but it sure likes to bloom! Lesley -- thank you :) Tammy -- Thanks!! I wonder what is up with your Grimaldi? Did you say it was still in a pot? Mine went straight into the ground from RU and it has loved it. I didn't get many blooms last year (a handful) but maybe it appreciated the Michigan winter? It did have a significant amount of die back but has bounced right back. I just noticed a huge basal cane coming up this morning so I am excited! My Raspberry C.T. is also from Edmunds and I cannot believe the growth on that one -- the most of all the roses I planted -- I'd say give it a lot of space if you can! Jeannie -- thank you! I think you'll love Raspberry Cream Twirl if you give it a chance. I got mine from Edmunds and it has been such a strong grower. Carol -- thanks, I love those stripey roses! My Paradise has no scent either but I love the blooms, they are shapely and seem to last quite a while on the bush without losing form. I bought a 3rd Paradise this year since my two from last year were such strong bloomer. I have one in a not so sunny location and it does surprisingly well so maybe it appreciates a little shade. How is yours with sun?

Thanks everyone. REMBRANDT VAN RYN is one of JB Williams' shrub roses from his Masterpiece series of striped roses. It grow very much shrub-like, sprawling all over the place and the blooms are in big long-lasting clusters. Another of his roses that's very similar is THE NIGHTWATCH, which is more on the crimson-plum and white color range. I have several other of his striped roses, and I just love them all!

Thank you so much. Since you mentioned it Kate, Berolina does have a happy look. All of these are good varieties, but looking at them again, it dawned on me that half of them are Kordes Roses: Liebeszauber, Beverly, Buxom Beauty, Sunsprite and Berolina, they have some very good roses. Vansunny, hope you enjoy your Beverly and Buxom Beauty, your roses are lovely, bet they will do great for you.

Those are beautiful, Sara-Ann! I love your Beverly and Tiffany, and your Sunsprite has AMAZING form! I tried growing a Sunsprite when I first started and the blooms blew within an hour, never looked half as nice as yours.

Wow they're all so beautiful! I really love TIFFANY. That's one rose I don't have anymore. I should get her. The one I had yrs ago was really tall and smelled so good. I don't even remember what happened to her. Hmmmm...

Awesome!!! I have Beverly and Buxom Beauty (new last year - didn't do much). It's wonderful to know they may grow up and look like your roses!! They look so huge and wonderful!! Great job!!

What differences do notice between Berolina and Sunsprite? They both look wonderful. Do you have a preference? TIA

This was an exciting post for me because I have so many of your roses (bare roots last year) and I didn't really know how pretty they would be (or not). Yours are stunning!

I have Tiffany, Buxom Beauty and Beverly

Which one of these is your favorite and why??

I also really love your picture of Sunsprite!! Lovely!!

Thanks again everyone! Carol, of the three you asked about, right now Tiffany, mainly because it is so prolific and I love the beautiful and fragrant blooms. BB is a good rose and very fragrant, sometimes I'm not very fond of the color, but sometimes it's gorgeous. I had a Beverly a couple of years ago that didn't make it, it was my fault though. I just planted this one this year, think it is going to be a good rose from what I can tell so far. I think they're all great roses, I can see where Beverly could be right up there with Tiffany as it becomes established.
