Why are my thuja emerald greens turning yellow?
Comments (2)interior browning is normal.. as the canopy shades the interior.. it can be increased by transplant ... and/or a bad winter ... just plain old normal ... quit looking inside.. lol .. the minor exterior damage ..... looks like handling and shipping damage from grower.. to seller.. to you ... in tree time ... thats how long it can take for minor damage to show .. just snip them off back to live growth ... ken ps: and. sometimes.. mild winters are worse than bad winters.. depending on where you are ......See Morewhy are leaves on my hibiscus plants turning yellow
Comments (3)might have a lot to do with planting in july in FL ... how were they planted.. and how have you been watering them .. one thing for sure.. they are stressed ... and it must be severe stress .. if leaves turned yellow in 10 days ... take a hand trowel.. and find out if there is any moisture down 3 to 6 inches.. where the roots are ... both on the gob planted.. and in close surrounding soil ....if you are relying on lawn irrigation.. that is probably the problem ... in my MI... i dont plant ANYTHING in july or august... maybe pensicola is different ... how about a pic or two.. so we can see size.. color.. etc ... ken...See MoreWhy is my prayer plant leaves turning yellow?
Comments (4)I've grown a Rabbit Tracks Maranta for ages and it's common for the old leaves to yellow/brown and die. It's also common for the entire plant to die off and go completely dormant for a short time in the winter. It always starts growing again in the spring though! :)...See MoreRosemary turning yellow after root prune
Comments (16)after transplanting.. and root pruning.. it would be best to provide shade for the plant until it can regrow some of the roots.. to support all the green above ... that yours is yellowing.. indicates the lack of properly pumping roots ... but it sound like you cant move the pot ... if you can.. move it to bright shade ... and if you cant.. then rig up some shade where the pot is ... in stress .. like planting.. digging.. etc.. anytime you interfere with the roots ... the lowest oldest leaves are usually those that are sacrificed to maintain the new growth .. had you provided a picture.. we would probably have noted that first thing ... i like to think of a plant as a delicate balance between the root mass.. and the leaves above .. if you significantly reduce that which is below ... then there is going to be trouble above.. especially in sun ... [and the converse of course is.. if you go to town on the top with no insult to the roots.. jump back.. you may be surprised how fast and otherwise healthy plant can regrow ...] take a quick look at the primer below.. for dealing with trees and shrubs.. and note what section one is all about ... timing in not plant specific .. as gal noted... and i reinforce.. there is a time and a season for everything.. and it usually has nothing to do with our whims .. can you stretch the envelop.. sure ... but i am talking about making it easier on the plant.. and you ... less stress for both ... ken https://sites.google.com/site/tnarboretum/Home/planting-a-tree-or-shrub...See Morepinetta
