Need help with cost for painting all interior trim etc. How much?
Comments (5)Although I am a contractor and have always given painting portions of the project to my painter, but when I did my house, i did all of the paint on my own and I will say, to this day I always say, leave the big jobs to the professionals! Especially when it comes to paint! i can guarantee the couple hundred bucks you will save doing it yourself you will not save you sanity. Between all of the sanding, and the dust and the taping and the paint in the air and the drying, a job of this size if you can afford to hire a good painter in your area I would recommend it more than anything!...See MoreNeed curb appeal for my Portland, Orego cape cod! Comments (8)Hi! I like your pink plant pots. If you like the white paint on the outside, consider a bold color door, black shutters and add big black trimmed flower boxes under the windows, with flowering shrubs and perennials in front of your porch. I love the idea of white hydrangeas fronting the concrete porch. Do you like romantic or modern & edgy? You have some nice trees, keep them trimmed up so they don't block the view of the house and windows. Try some "Aubrieta Rock Cress Cascade Purple Ground Cover Plant or Dichondra Silver Falls Ground Cover " with spiky grasses in between along the edge of the rock wall. Tuck some Creeping Jenny in between for variety in color. Whatever you plant, try to keep it low maintenance and slow growing as that is a real selling point for the future....See MoreLandscaping, curb appeal......help..all ideas appreciated!
Comments (19)Figure out a way to work in a citrus tree. Even if you are not so crazy about citrus, it’s a selling point to anyone from Back East or Canada. Totally appropriate for that kind of house, too. i recommend a blood orange tree, as offering a relatively high value crop. kumquat is the same and has the advantage of being an excellent ornamental....See MorePlease help with paint color idea and front landscape
Comments (13)Here's what I'd do. change out that front door. it's faux victorian style and doesn't work on your style home. Do a door something like this (not necessarily this color, just the style), remove that one pair of shutters (you don't need them) and remove the dated looking inserts on the garage door windows and add some iron carriage hardware to the door other softer blue combos. (If you have an HOA, check w/them first. Seems like every color house is that buttery yellow) If you're in the tropic region of the state, anything goes. If your front faces north or east, you could do some shade loving ferns/begonias, and bromeliads for some color. I'd remove that boxy shrub under the window. I'd prob switch out that red mulch in the flower beds and do a black/or brown bark. a lot of flower beds also use the white rock If you go to the SW ColorSnap app, you can upload a pic of your house and try out colors. I'm sure the other companies have similar apps...See MoreLeslie Walker
