Hamburg and hotdog buns just out of the oven. LOL, the hotdog buns look stubby, like pigs in a blanket but they are wiener-length. :-)
I also made homemade fudgesicles in the freezer, and it smells like cocoa in here too. I'll let you know how they turn out.

Comments (2)LOL... I've done this before, too! It was a vial of chamomile essential oil which I accidentally dropped and shattered on my bathroom tile floor. I did actually think to save the paper towel used to wipe up the mess, and I put that very fragrant paper towel into the utility room of my house which is where I keep my worm bin (so it can sometimes get a bit rank in there due to composting)... The farm across the road was planted to wheat this past year, and I couldn't begin to tell you how much time people spent on the porch, watching it ripple in the wind. I did look like waves on green water. I've begun to look at our property with an eye toward where the secret garden needs to be. What a magical place you've created. The eggs in the nest are a perfect touch. BTW, I told DH that Michelle and her husband farm, and THEY went to a rock shop on vacation, lol! He's had a hard time coming around to the beauty in rocks, but we're making progress. The gaudy container is spectacular! The Idylls make me want to have lots of urns of plants. However, since I'm terrible about tending containers, I shall admire them from afar. That one should be in a magazine! I believe I get to spend time in the yard today, so with this dose of inspiration, I'll head out and see what I can accomplish :) Thanks for sharing! Comments (12)Have you seen the "mice" cookies made out of stemmed maraschino cherries dipped in chocolate with Hershey Kiss heads resting on half of an oreo cookie? They are soooo cute and everybody who sees them, raves about them. You take the top off of an Oreo cooke and save the white frosted part to use as the base. Dip a stemmed cherry in melted chocolate and lay on the white frosting with the stem facing backward like the tail of the mouse. Place a dab of chocolate on the base of the Hershey Kiss. Use 2 sliced almonds pressed into the chocolate as ears and press against the cherry. The base of the kiss goes against the cherry with the almonds in between as the ears. Use green frosting gel and place 2 dots on the Kiss as eyes. Place a red hot or cinnamon candy on the center of the white frosting by one side of the mouse and pipe green gel leaves on either side of the red hot. It is just a green squiggle on either side, but it gives the effect of holly. You could also use a dot of red piping gel on the tip of the Kiss as a nose, but it isn't really necessary. When done, the mouse faces sideways with the holly in front! They take some time, but aren't that expensive as the cherries usually come in a jar with a large number of cherries, and probably 3 bags of Oreos would give 100 bases. Comments (12)Here's the banana bread recipe and I use the method I mentioned for cooling my bread. Sour Cream Banana Bread 1 cup sugar 1/2 cup oil 2 eggs 1 cup mashed bananas (2 medium) 1/2 cup sour cream 1 teaspoon vanilla 1-1/2 cups all-purpose flour 1 teaspoon baking soda 1/2 teaspoon salt Preheat oven to 350F. Grease and flour bottom only of a 9 X 5 loaf pan. In large bowl, beat together sugar and oil. Add eggs, bananas, sour cream and vanilla, blend well. Lightly spoon flour into measuring cup, level off. Add flour, baking soda and salt, stir just until dry ingredients are moistened. Pour into prepared pan. Bake at 350F for 50 to 60 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool 5 minutes. Remove from pan. Cool completely. Wrap tightly and store in refrigerator. Makes 1 loaf _______ ***Here's my tip for any fruit breads I make, and been doing this for ages: Remove from pan, let set on cooling rack for about 5 minutes. In a storage conatiner, that one loaf fits in, line wax paper from bottom to sides. Place loaf in the container and seal tightly with lid and leave overnight. Makes for a super moist bread, even though the bread is most already. We had a burger bun with our pasta primavera last nite. Super good!!!! I kept 2 out so we can have burgers.
The recipe is off of King Arthur's site. I make bread every week and I made these by hand as well. You can use a bread machine, a stand mixer or by hand. I just rolled some into rolls for the hotdog buns.
I use regular yeast, not instant, and I don't brush them with melted butter before baking, that makes them too soggy.
The fudgsicles that I first saw called for heavy cream and whole milk, neither of which I use, so I looked for a low-fat recipe. This one calls for corn syrup, which I couldn't find. I swore I had some in the cupboard. I subbed cornstarch and it worked great. (I'm going to cut back a bit on the cocoa next time)
Fudgesicles
2 cups low-fat milk
1/2 cup cocoa
2/3 cup sugar
1/4 tsp fine salt
2 tbsp corn syrup (or 2 tsp cornstarch)
1 tsp vanilla
If using cornstarch, combine it with 2 tbsp milk in a saucepan, until smooth. Whisk in remaining milk, sugar, cocoa and salt.
Bring to a boil over medium-high heat stirring constantly, being careful that it doesn't boil over. Reduce to medium and cook 1 minute making sure sugar and cocoa is fully dissolved.
Remove from heat, add vanilla. Pour into a measuring cup and pour into popsicle molds. Freeze 6 hours.
