That video is so great; those goats couldn't be any cuter. Jasdip posted it for us yesterday, by the way. I think it's one of the cutest animal videos I've seen. Thanks for posting.

sorry I did not give the stats. 2 wethers, 3 months old. mini-nigerians. yesterday I took them out and they followed me all over the yard and then I sat down in a chair and when they came up to me I sat there and rubbed their sides and under their necks for a good 20 minutes. They loved the attention. I stayed out there with them for about 2 hours. when I put them back in the pen they fell asleep and I did not hear a peep out of them for the rest of the day. I guess they were just crying for personal attention. About the fence I said I did not have a break but that is not entirely true. I actually do have a break but it is where the tensioners are. The fence worked fine before so I am not quite sure what is happening now. can the tensioners cause one side of the fence not to get juice? It has a ceramic wheel in it so I have a jumper from one side to the other. It worked before so I am not sure what happened. I guess my petting frenzy I went on yesterday is not going to deter them from jumping on me huh? One likes to nibble on everyones clothes too. I am going to assume this is a baby habit like allaroundgoatgirl said (them being jumpy). I never saw an adult goat jump up on anyone. I push them down everytime they do it with a firm and loud NO. I hope they eventually stop.

Hold them as much as possible, when putting out food, go in and pet them, if they squirm away your not holding them enough. Sit in their pen as much as you can stand it at this age. When they get older you won't need to do this since they will already be used to you. This is the critical age where they figure out if they are part of your heard or you are just an outsider who feeds them and goes away. This is especially serious when your child want to touch them and they feel the little one is an outsider and they need to 'protect' themselves. The first time they try to even playfully butt you, be very very stern and say NO point with your finger and maybe even touch their nose saying NO. Horns and human children are the worst thing ever. Its too late to disbud them but you need to be careful to train your child as much as these goats. I have all horned goats, my pygmy is the worst to use them on outsiders, dogs, or even a little bush he finds annoying. His horns are his way of communicating. Not with me or hubby but with strangers, family members, outside dogs etc. Please educate yourself on the dangers of horns and buy Carolyn Eddy's Practical Goatpacking book. I know you won't be goatpacking but you can learn so much of how to train your goat, how many words they can learn and the discipline it takes to create a well loved pet. You can train goats to do much more then they will show you lol

well I ended up with another barn cat on saturday...I swear I must have "sucker" tattoed across my forhead. My neighbor came over and said come to the house I want to show you something...so what do I do??? I go...and he brings out this little kitten covered in burrs and he had all of this green goop coming out of his eyes and he was coughing. SO what do I say? yes I will take him??? My neighbors have what I call the intensive care for cats...they have 5 cats all of wich have severe medical problems...like....diabetes/liver problems they even give one cat an IV twice a day....they had just put down their oldest cat who was 19 and didnt want another one. So 60 bucks poorer from going to vet's this morning I have another barn cat. He's about 4 months old he weighs 3.2 pds and is relativly healthy. No feline lukemia or aids and is now on upper respitory meds/eye drops/and the vet wormed him........he's eating and drinking and seems to be feeling much better today/guess a antibiotic plus vitamin shot has him feeling better......kg

Oh my gosh they are adorable. There's a house next door to my doctor's office that has a farm and lots of those little goats but they are the fainting goats. It is hilarious to see them all fall down in a dead faint at once. I was sitting in my car watching them play when one came running out from behind the barn and scared them and bam they all just fell down, out cold. In a few seconds they all woke up and started playing again. I had to keep watching and sure enough it happened again. I asked about them in the office and they said oh yes we love to watch them. Now when I go I make sure to park in the lot facing the farm. It was very entertaining lol.

Our neighbors 2 houses down at our former home had some little ones for the kids ffa, they didn't faint but they did tricks. They would climb on top of their little house and the kids would hold up a hula hoop and they would jump through it. They did some really cute stuff. Darling little animals.

Those fainting goats? have led to answers in human muscular disorders (Molecular basis of Thomsen’s disease (autosomal dominant myotonia congenital), George et al). Believe it or not! Cute and very helpful.
