the roots are stressed from the transplant .. and can not support the leaves ... water properly.. and pray ken ps: grass grew that lushly around the trunk since planting????

I think what happened to your leaves is sunburn...that is my guess? Especially when you said you brought it outside (I'm assuming you were growing inside with a lot less sun than being outside)! I live in Central FL and we've been unseasonable warm the last few weeks and the sun has been very strong. You should have acclimated it to full sun very, very slowly...starting with an hour of morning sun and giving it a little more each day. It usually takes about a week or two to acclimate plants from inside to outside especially in Miami...you guys are even hotter than we are :o( There's not much you can do for the sunburn leaves unfortunately...but you can try and prevent the rest from scorching by giving some shade and slowly give it some sun. Good luck!! Again, this is just a guess without seeing it in person.

R...you have a couple of things going on. 1. Usually tip burn is caused by salts in your water that has built up in your soil. This is common...and very seldom a major problem. Flush out your soil real well....then mildly fertilize after that. Also, it appears to me that you may have some insect munching on the leaves. Spray for that.

Moisture meters are quite accurate and inexpensive. I recommend getting one at HD or your local hardware store. Your damage was done probably months ago. Those brown leaves will not re-green. They will drop and new leaves will replace them next Spring. Pots must have free-draining mixes, and have good drainage holes. Do NOT let the pot completely dry out. You can not un-due those brown leaves.
