newbie gardner question!

Hello! I inherited a lot with very nice soil, I made 2 4x4 raised be and doing squarefoot gardening with the existing soil. Everything grew insanely well, but after the crop was harvested and I planted new things in - the second crops didn't do as well. For example, the leaves of my Daikon radish are yellow and dry looking... Do I need to fertilize the soil? Turn the soil? What should I be doing? I still have other plants in the same bed that are growing strong (Basil, Eggplant, Tomatoes) but there are a few square where I grew greens and radishes in that are currently empty. I would love to grow new things there but not sure how I can prep the soil without disturbing the roots of the plants in the neighboring squares. Please help!
