i have a new dewalt sawsall... much easier to work with as compared to a chainsaw ... do spend the extra 8 bucks.. for a TREE SAW ... it really makes a difference ... i found... that i can cut enough with one battery charge ... that by the time i clean up what i cut.. the battery can be recharged ... BUT... if you use teh battery too long.. on too large pieces.. it heats up..and it wont charge.. until it cools .... otherwise.. i borrow a second battery.. and charge one while using the other ... get this.. at lowes... $100 bucks for ONE extra battery ... or.... $100 for two... whats that all about ... idiots ... watch for a sale.. where they might offer two batteries and a flashlight or some such ... a package deal ... those sales are usually around fathers day.. etc ... for anything under 3 inches or so.. you will never pull out the chainsaw .... ken

what is going on is the system is going into defrost which is normal operation of a heat pump. when it goes into defrost what happens is the system actually reverses and goes into the air condioning mode but the heat strips are suppose to kick on to keep cold air from blowing in the house. it sounds like your heat strips are not turning on and it is blowing cold air in the house. they need to check the strips and see if they are working properly. then they need to make sure that the strips are calling during defrost. the heat strips are deffinately your problem. the only thing is that if the unit has not been running and as soon as you turn it on it goes in to defrost something is wrong there too. it should run for a little while before it goes in to defrost not right away. you could have a bad board or defrost sensor also. or the board could be your whole problem it is going into defros to much and the board is what turns on the strips during defrost. teel the technician exactly what you told me and they should know exactly what to check. good luck

Try removing all the dead stuff from the stump and if there is any rot cut back to healthy tissue. Let it callous over for a few days out of direct sun light but not in dark conditions. If you wanted some people dust the cut stem with cinnamon.then place in either soil with at least 50% perlite or into perlite itself ( I use the dirt/perlite myself) and keep it just moist but definitely not damp. Keep in good light out off direct sun and normal room temperature. Oh, I recomend using say a 3 or 3.5 inch clay pot with only enough soil to cover up that stem base to just below the leaves, this is a temporary situation as you are trying to root it. The pot rim should support the plant so it doesn't tip over. Good luck. It is possible that it did not have enough water and light. Gritty mix by it's very nature dries quickly so it needs to be watered more than standard potting soils. Sansevieria are said to grow in low light, that is not totally true; they survive in low light for a long time. They thrive in Bright indirect light and warm temperatures. Fred

Romy found some great inspiration photos for you! Here is one more I thought of. It is mommytofive's partial reveal. I love her soapstone backsplash behind the stove. The second picture is un-oiled and really shows the detail and the small shelf. I like the short SS splash with it, but you could easily skip it if you prefer and do a simple tile to the counter everywhere else. Next is one of my (yes I have many) all time favorites and the original inspiration for my kitchen. You've probably seen KatieOb's. Notice her barrel hood? So gorgeous. She has a lot of the chrome finishes as well. I could easily picture your soapstone slab behind the stove and with your more modern style finishes like cabinet hardware, stainless apron sink, etc...then it will lean more towards the transitional style. Transitional is my favorite style. I love a mix of modern and traditional, so I am loving all your choices. I can almost see it already and it's going to be awesome! My one concern was the black hood. I did like it with your original idea for the quartzite slab. But when I looked up photos, and you probably noticed this too, most pictures had the lighter backsplash with it like you were originally planning. That said, I love the soapstone choice too, so if hubby loves the soapstone, I would go for the stainless hood with the shiny bands. I think that will look really great Melis. Btw, just curious on what the quartzite is called for the island and the blue grey color you chose? Weren't you doing that color on your hutch area too? Please keep us posted on what you decide ok?
