Hi Qinz, I'm very happy for you! I was forced on HRT about 5 years ago, when I had a horrible vaginal bleed, and needed a D&C. The doc had me on lots of estrogen to keep from repeat bleeding. When I tried to come off it, my Fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue got soooooo much worse, so back on I went. 2 years later I tried to come off my combi-patch, and the same thing happened. I gave it 2 months, and I kept getting sicker and sicker. I don't get hot flashes. I have, in the past few years, lost alot of faith in the medical community. Money is at the root of all the decisions made, and not the best thing for us......... So, now I'm rethinking this combipatch. But.....I'm not as lucky as you.........I appear to get sooooooo much sicker with the Fibromyalgia when I try to come off it. I truly believe that our bodies get "addicted" to extra hormones, and it becomes almost like going through detox to get off them. I will start to think about trying it again. Good luck to you!

DHEA Facts long but very good info, read before you do any thing toyour body There are thousands of books and medical journals written on the subject of DHEA, so we will attempt to explain the facts in an easy to understand way, so you can better understand what is truth and what is fiction to help you make better choices about your health care. Dihydroepiandrosterone "DHEA" DHEA is a naturally occurring steroid hormone produced in the adrenal glands by both men and women, and it's the most abundant steroid hormone in the bloodstream. DHEA Levels DHEA levels are known to fall precipitously with age, falling 90% from age 20 to age 90. I'm almost 50 and also have had little or no libido for several months. As my testosterone levels were normal when I had my hormones tested recently I would be reluctant to take more and risk the hair problem!! I think it's more a question of estrogen levels (that was way down, even tho I'm still having periods). So, having had two unsuccessful goes at taking HRT over the past year - unpleasant bloatingn, weight gain etc - I'm about to have another try, this time with Bi-estrogen and a progesterone cream called Crinone 4% - there's lots of info on these newish options on the Net. I'm interested in hearing comments from anyone who has tried this combo. I live in Paris so now I have to find a Dr here who has heard of Bi-estrogens and Crinone. I asked my GP today who said "Just because it's on the Net Madame doesn't mean you can get it in France." Have to make an appointment with a gynae after Xmas and see if he's more enlightened! About a 1 1/2 months ago my doctor increased my bi-est cream to 2.4 (2 clicks in the am and 2 clicks in the pm), progesterone pills (200 mg) 1 at night remained the same. I was also taking DHEA 10 mgs in the am. My DHEA level was extreemly high. All other levels were within normal range. My hair started thining, weight gain in the stomach/hips and internal itching from scalp to legs. Took a saliva test and doctor took me off the DHEA. Hair still looks thin, itching has continued and the weight has not come off. (side note - I exercise 4 to 5 times per week). Went to see a dermatologist. He said hair loss has stopped even though my hair still looks thin and he gave me pills for the itching. I believe the hair loss/thinning, weight gain and most of all the itching is due to the bi-est. I have only had one ovary removed. Can you shed some light as my doctor is not listening to me. Monica
