I am replacing 3 sliding glass doors, several large sliders (72" x 55"), and a few double hung windows, mostly on the south and west sides of my house in the bright sunshine of Colorado (elev. 5300 ft).
I've narrowed my choices to the above windows. All 3 bids are roughly the same price: full frame integrity = insert replacement infinity = full frame Sunrise Vanguard. First of all, does that pricing seem to make sense? Secondly, is it always better to go with full frame vs. insert replacement (I don't have any water leakage or visible rot outside)?
Currently I have 20+ year old wood windows (oak), with stained trim. Since I am not replacing all the windows in the house at the same time, I am looking to replicate the look, but don't need it to be real wood.
I am torn over the better performance numbers of the Sunrise vs. the asthetics of the Marvin products. Will the Sunrise numbers hold up over time? Or will they quickly perform closer to the Marvin products as they age?
I would love a little help. Thanks!
