Hey everyone.. I wish I could of got a couple of better shots than that, but I think you all get the point. Josh, thanks pal! I do love the looks of the mix. I can tell you that anytime I ever transplant out of this mix, the roots to my plants always look clean and bright white. For anyone that thinks a mix like this might dry out too fast, not so. It does dry out a bit faster than most mixes with peat, but I have also learned that watering my plants more frequently happens to encourage better growth as a whole. What I did notice too was that once water touches the bark, immediately it starts to decompose as anything would, which doesn't require as much frequent watering as I first started out with. In fact, here is what the mix looks like after sitting in just two days of water. But, it does break down a lot slower than a mix with small fine particles and dries out so evenly. The key is to soak it first before use. Greendale, for me this mix is just as good as the gritty one because I am not using any peat fraction at all. The Pumice and Perlite do not breakdown at all while the bark breaks down just as slow as the one I use in the gritty. What I like about it is, it is much lighter than the gritty, although the gritty certainly has its place in my world. Happy New Year to you all...Josh, Purple and Greendale! LOL! Thanks! well... no, not hard. but i was concerned about getting the chunk off without destroying all of the roots. Turned out to be surprisingly easy with a bit of patience.

Update time! I've begun watering the plants occasionally and lightly. New growth is popping up everywhere. Tiny, but definitely there. This is why I love Jades. I don't know of any other plant that is this easy except perhaps Sansevieria, haha, but propagating those appears to take an eternity. I once placed some cuttings into a pot, and a year later, the three cuttings were still there, alive and looking exactly the same as before. As I was tossing them, I just checked to see if there were roots and there were plenty. It just didn't plan on doing much else. But Jades... plant 'em and they grow. My kind of plant. This was one of the last pots I made with the larger stems. Not sure where I'm going with this but we'll see, I guess. The best part is that five other people have about 10-15 cuttings each from just these plants. I didn't even touch my other jades to supply those, so it makes me happy to know that two plants provided that many new plants to other people. For me, plants are like food. Food is great on its own but really, the greatest joy is in sharing that food. I've "dismembered" so many of my plants that my mother shakes her head at me asking why I bother growing plants if I'm going to make them all so ugly by chopping at them to give them away. It's a valid point, but where's the fun in keeping all of it for myself in pristine condition, right?

Pls help I purchased this beautiful large Fatsia Spider Web 3 days ago and repotted into a slightly larger pot and added more soil and watered it in its new home --- and the next morning the leaves were brown and next two days more and more leaves are browning. I'm not sure if there is too much water or it didn't like me repotting should I cut off all the brown leaves I've kept it 2 metered away from a morning sun window as they say it needs a lot of sun - having said that by 10-11 am the sunlight is gone and it's in light but not burning sun (we are in the Middle East) but the rubber plant right next to the window is doing fine plsu I had repotted it in the evening of the day I purchased it and by early morning the leaves were browning so I know the issue is not the sunlight. Pls pls help. A - it was an expensive plant B I don't want it to die C they say it's a hardy plant and loves the sun and tolerates all kinds of soil etc so I can't understand - im sure I didn't drown it in water (on a side note - another runner plant (the one with the thick dark green leaves ) suddenly started drooping all leaves (have had it for 6 months - sits NOT near a window but been fine all this time) -- drooping downwards --- not dropping - but eventually they R falling - would it be Becos there might be too much water ? It's brother which is dir ct near the window has been fine I read that drooping leaves are due to lack of water so added more but never recovered if I cut off all he leaves can I save it? Sorry two plant issues here thks
