Thank you so much for your answers. I never thought to check the FAQ sheet. (I do tend to panic.) But I think you've hit it. We had a horrible hot spell recently. At least it appears there is reason to hope. I was afraid something awful had happened. In further support of high temps, the patio tomatoes had set their fruit before the heat wave struck. Thank you all again. I am so relieved.

If you can, plant fruit trees including peach on berms. Your tree will establish faster and is less likely to be affect by flood. Most fruit trees do not tolerate wet feet/standing water. When I had 10 straight days of rain, my peach trees dropped many perfectly green healthy leaves. The trees were stressed. Fortunately, my soil absorbed water quickly. Squirrels prefer ripe or ripening fruit to green ones.

I wish I could delete thread. After I posted I went to my compost pile to Ck on green citrus i had thrown in the pile 2 weeks ago. Guess what: fruit was soft and rotting, perfect compost material. So....never mind, I know what to do with the new batch of green citrus. I guess I'll never learn to take what I read online with a grain of salt. Sigh...

Great article on WLD Vladmimir. One month of being inside and leaves are dropping off both my trees at the rate of a 1-2 each day for the last week. The trees are in a south facing window (gray and rainy Portland skies) and have supplemental lighting. Planted in a loose soil mixture, though not the 511. Daytime ambient temp is 64*, soil temp 64*, 54% humidity. If I read the article correctly since I can't lower the room temperature I should set the pots on warming mats and warm up the roots a bit?? Arrrgh! It's so confusing!!!!
