Tile most of the bathroom or tile the entire bathroom?
Comments (17)Sumod- The medicine cabinets are simple wood frames with a cabinet-grade plywood back that just sit in the stud cavity. Because of the dimensions, the front of the frame projects about 1"+ beyond the finished wall. The medicine cabinet doors are also plywood with veneered edges and they are attached to the frame with standard cabinet hinges (Euro hinges). The mirrors are just 1/4" plate glass ordered to size from a glass shop and held in place with mirror mastic and a metal strip at the bottom that you don't really see. The guy who did the cabinets just made the medicine cabinets as part of the job. I don't know about the door brand...we live in a large metro area that has lots of door shops and the doors are just solid core maple doors with the center cut out and a maple panel held in with molding. They're not stained; they simply have a couple coats of clear spray lacquer....See MoreAdvice needed for 12' x 7.5' bathroom floor tile and shower wall tile
Comments (25)Home Depot is the only place within two hours that sells the pre-fab, and the colors are horrible. I need three bathroom countertops, and the largest is 52". I should be able to find remnants, but I can't even find fabricators who have remnants. Nobody has a website and the fabricators don't advertise, at all. I found six places in Tulsa, but none of them have quartzite remnants. I can only find stone suppliers. I will make a list of suppliers this weekend, and call them on Monday. Maybe they have a list of fabricators near me. Even Google maps didn't have anyone listed near me. They didn't have the two fabricators that are a half hour away from me. What is your opinion on glossy vs honed in a bathroom. My kitchen has leathered Sea Pearl quartzite, and I love it. I prefer matte colors usually, but I doubt I would like leathered bathroom countertops....See MoreSubway Tile For Bathroom and Shower Floor?
Comments (2)Thanks for this feedback! I do realize these inspo pics are not of bathroom floors - it's what I want for my bathroom floor but I can't find it & the reason for the post :) Good point about grout - do you think subway tile would require more grout than penny and other small tile often associated with bathroom floors?...See Morematt tile bathroom floor with glossy tile shower
Comments (4)Yes for glossy in the shower, great! white subway for the shower sides and the marble for the back wall ... kind of run the floor up the wall on the back wall of the shower? When you walk into the bathroom, are you looking straight at the shower wall? a few things to think about. Have you looked for bathroom tile ideas? small mosaic tile accents are too trendy, and don't always last the test of time. Why not just you the same large format tile for everything, including the niche, and so called accent? Classier. I am guessing you don't have the square footage to make the accents mean anything ... photo of the room would help....See MoreRelated Professionals
