That's the tricky part--everyone has different dishes! I do plates and bowls in the row behind the silverware basket, cups and glasses on the left side, and the coffee pot right in front of the soap holder, which makes it really hard to open to fill with soap. The little wings get flipped down and hold plastic kid bowls and sippy cups and the occasional spatula.

I used a Rev-a-shelf for the flatware - originally planned on a 2 layer system but this works fine. For the knife drawer - love the insert - I hated the one that came with the drawer. 2 21 inch drawers flatware only Knives only - Wusthoff insert Junk drawer - several modifications since the picture

I have a similar system as hockeymom and lisa . . . I bought pegboard and the uprights separately. The only thing I don't like is that the uprights ar little sharp on the edges and I occasionally scrape a knuckle. Next kitchen I'll track down the dowels or go for the Ikea lifters, which I think are neat. My drawer is a 36" pots and pans drawer and it works great. I do, however, keep my glassware in an upper cabinet.
