Wow, Diana! I would be excited to. You folks on the west coast live in a totally different humming bird world from the rest of us. I haven't even seen a hummer this year. The second picture looks like two babies. All the nest pictures I've seen so far always had two babies. I'd enclose a picture of a nest from here, but don't know how to insert the picture in a message. Maybe someone will enlighten me. Good luck with your hummers. Looks like your babys are almost big enough to fly. Rob

You should put it out as soon as you see the females. From my observations, they mate within a day or two of their arrival and begin making their nest the next day.

I was wondering the same. We had a male which I saw daily early in the morning. Then I didn't see him and thought that was the end of my having hummers. Now today I've been seeing a female all day. I've never seen one before. She comes frequently, seems like every 15 minutes or so, but I haven't seen the male. I read (perhaps on this forum) that males do not incubate eggs but do assist in the raising of the nestlings. I hope this is the case. This is our first time to have hummingbirds and we are very excited.

Very nice!! If I may........ Here is a link that might be useful: Hummer Nest Pictures
