I have often noticed a few hummingbirds around my yard, since the Aloe is now blooming hopefully I will see more. Oh wow ..... I discovered a nest in the messy Acacia tree but I just don't know which type of hummer it is. lol

Thanks Paul, Their nests are so cool, and VERY hard to see! I found 2 in the Fall one year, but this is the first time I've ever seen one in use. I probably would have gone all summer without seeing it, except that I was walking under a pine tree branch and suddenly heard a hummer take off. That make me look really closely.....and there it was! Even now when I look for it, I have to look for awhile. They're so cool!

I defer to your expert IDs. I purchased the plant from the UC Berkeley Botanical Garden and that's what the tag said. The plant is rangy and parts are 7 feet tall. It is in a location where there is frost protection from nearby trees and I would say the location is part-sun. I'm in the Bay Area so we get occasional frost, but temps under freezing are not frequent. This is the first year it has put on such a colorful show.
