Wolf Induction Cooktop--am I expecting too much?
Comments (13)CAChris, I am totally surprised to hear your comments comparing your gas cooktop to the Wolf Induction! I've never cooked with gas and have no point of reference there. I always thought gas was super speedy. Prior to our move last summer, I had a Viking Induction cooktop for 4 years. Comparing its performance to the Wolf Induction is what made me think there may be a problem with my new Wolf cooktop. I was expecting it to be comparable to Viking. But Viking Induction blows Wolf away--however, it's not nearly as pretty! I suppose I will get used to the Wolf in time. There are a lot of positives about the Wolf--I do like the textured glass top which is MUCH EASIER to keep clean than any other glass top cooktop I've ever used. And I think the timer is quite handy. I have not observed any hot spots on the Wolf and it appears to cook very evenly. It holds a constant simmer beautifully. Thank you for your comments and for your doing the timed water test....See MoreWolf Induction cooktops on backorder... again.
Comments (3)Its disheartenig to see people on discussion boards receiving backordered Woolf ranges in 4 months and occasinlly as much as a year, while my expected delivery date has been extended twice. next possible delivery is January or Feb 2023, 1 1/2 years of waiting. Comments (5)I was looking at the CE304CB (frameless black glass model). That being said, it's still too tall given the additional height of the power conduit at the bottom. Unlike a wolf wall oven, a miele is flat in the rear on top so there is no "knock out" to allow for the conduit to come down. I see a few options that would fit height wise. Bertazzoni, Smeg, Miele make a few. Viking makes one. What parameter is preventing you from using miele in the first place?...See MoreMiele vs Samsung vs BlueStar vs Wolf Induction Cooktops + Service
Comments (44)So, time to chime in here. I went with the Blue Star 36" induction cook top 2 years ago. Looks great, LOVED the knobs, worked fantastic... for about 18 months. I'll note that unlike their other products it only has a 1 year warranty. First, the two rightmost burners started indicating they were overheating when the central burner was in use (and the rightmost were not). I reset the system at the breaker per the manual and it rand great for three weeks with a hitch, then the central and right top burner cut out entirely. Three days later they came back, but wouldn't heat above level 7 (out of 10). I had (or so I thought) the good sense to get an extended warranty, but after getting a service guy out here the warranty company informs me it will cost more to fix than I paid in the first place, so they're going to cash me out. Blue Star may be good in other areas (no experience here), but based on my experience with this one, I don't think they have enough time making this product to reach their usual degree of reliability. Addendum: looks like Blue Star (when I bought it) had a narrower cut out (18") than anything currently on the market, including their own product. At least it looks like they're learning from past mistakes......See Morea2gemini
