Aroma aside, is Tide the same as Gain+sodium percarbonate?
Comments (2)I guess so. I counted 19 ingredients for Ultra Tide HE powder and 14 for Ultra Gain HE powder. Tide, besides oxy bleach and an activator, has one more enzyme in it. Really a shame about thw US powders. In Europe, P&G's newest Ariel powder has seven enzymes. I think your best bet are Tide Pods with five enzymes - again lacking oxy. If your happy with Gain's cleaning power, adding oxy bleach would be a good solution for your whites, imo. Comments (13)Doubtful there's "real" softener in Tide plus a Touch of Downy. The description doesn't say anything specific about softener ... just that it has ingredients that help provide a slight bit of softness. Looking at the online ingredient list -- surfactants, process aids, fragrance, polymers, enzymes, soil capturers, brighteners, colorant, opacifier -- none are specifically stated as a softening agent. Comparing the ingredient list of Ultra Downy, the stated softening agent in the Downy is not in the Tide. Likely the Tide+Downy angle is fragrance marketing....See MoreWhat is the difference between Tide & Gain?
Comments (40)I smelled the Thai Dragon Fruit in the store once - it smells nothing at all like actual dragon fruit, which has a very light scent. :( My roomate bought some original scent Gain liquid a few months ago and it didn't rinse very well. Towels would also get this nasty air-freshener scent when they got wet. I wouldn't have bought it because I've always hated the scent. (Didn't even notice that it was different lol) I don't think it cleans as well as Wisk, and the target store brand liquid also seems to clean and rinse better and is cheaper than gain....See MoreBest pods for a top load washer?
Comments (6)Persil ProCaps are excellent. One thing i will say..one pod in a FL'er is more than enough but one pod in a full fill TL is a different story. You will probably need at least 2 in order to condition that much water. I always found that Pods in my TL'er were not cost effective, not even close, but i did uses them once in awhile anyway....See MoreJayme Smith
