Replace Therma-Tru frame or frame and door? Need help asap pls. x-post

We have 21 yr old Therma-Tru patio doors that have failed frames. The
doors are fine but one frame (DR) is warped and swollen, damaged during an
upstairs toilet flood. The other frame (kitchen) is rotting at the bottom on both
sides of the door, likely due to poor weatherproofing and rain leaking
in shortly after we moved in. We fixed the leak and thought all was okay
but unfortunately, that's not the case.

Both our GC and the
window contractor suggested that we're better off replacing door and
frame, not just the frame, because it would require a custom sized frame
(the old doors are 1/4" wider than new doors). We followed their advice
when we thought it was
just one door but now that we've realized we have to replace both doors,
we're gasping
at the cost.

The other hiccup is that the frame around the glass
inset on the new door (they delivered one already) is wider than on our current kitchen door by an inch on each side (it's the same size as the DR door, no idea why we received 2 diff door styles so long ago). We
just paid money to have the framing around the window next to the door
made wider so that we could fit in a wider window - I wanted to see more of my garden - so I'm not thrilled
about losing glass width on the kitchen door.

So hubby and I are
revisiting just replacing the frame and keeping our existing doors. As I
wrote above, the doors have been unaffected. What are the pros and cons of replacing frame versus replacing frame and door?

If it matters, both doors face south; one is exposed to the elements, one opens onto a covered deck.

We are in the middle of the remodel so immediate help is much appreciated! TIA!

I know there are other brands out there but the DR door is already installed and changing our minds at this point may not be possible and if possible, would screw up our time frame and bottom line.
