Zone War Games need votes for extending it another week.
Comments (8)I vote yes as well. It's been a long cold winter (and cold spring) and in my neck of the woods the temps are still good for sowing....See MoreNo frost forecast for another week!
Comments (1)Lovely picture, Margaret. It seems remarkable that after such a record-setting summer, we are having a fairly normal September. I won't complain. The heat was exhausting. Something different from our usual Junuary was a huge kick start! I made some mistakes, early and late. My plants are rather spent, nearly past tense, almost kaput. Some, like the peppers, are unloading! Having gardens in more than one place has been "educational," right along. Late-planted summer squash has behaved normally and productively in one garden. In another location, mildew is steamrolling 'em! Those young plants look almost as bad as their older brothers and sisters. Shoulda sprayed them to slow that mildew. I've got lots of green tomatoes, too. Trying to protect some plants from wind by setting them on the north side of a sunflowers ... well, as you have noted, the season isn't over yet! Comments (36)I was surprised to see how small she was too. I agree with annz, she looks like a spaniel to me, not sure I see much Golden in her. " I realized as I crouched on the floor with her and rubbed her back while she got sick that on some level that I really do love her (finally). It's just a different love than before, but not in a bad way, if that makes sense." I had a similar situation with one of our dogs. We got her at about 3 yrs and for a long time I wondered if it was a mistake. Her behaviour was hmm, problematic in many ways which frustrated me. One day she had an allergic reaction and I realised just how worried I was for her, took her off to the after hours vet etc. The thing is, we do have different relationships with different pets. I've had really close relationships with about half the dogs I've ever owned, where they were like my baby and the bond was just so very strong. I didn't have this with all my dogs though, but I still loved them all very much and would do anything for them. Just my experience, but each of these relationships is different in it's own way but that doesn't mean something is wrong and it seems like you feel your bond with her should be just like it was with your pug girl, no I don't believe that. Treat each pet as an individual because each of them is a different dynamic....See MoreAnother week in Kansas
Comments (24)One more update on this thread, then I'll start a new one for the new week. from a new band of Duchess of PortlandThat somewhat tattered bud of Hot Cocoa opened up nicely, here it is in both sun and shadea solitary bloom on Madame Plantier--I understand that's unusual, but most of the buds withered for some reason this spring...first bloom from a plant of Surpassing Beauty of Woolverstone, I got it because it is said it has a very unique fragrance. The fragrance was very nice and strong, but it didn't seem terribly unique, like say Duftendes Weisskirchen or even Marie Pavie..and speaking of Marie Pavie..most of her blooms are nodding down for some reason today..Cécile Brünner finally decides to join her cousin Perle d'Or in blooming this spring... first bloom from a very large band of Radio Times...or at least, that's what it is labelled, but with RVR you never really know for sure..does smell verrry nice though.....See MoreOklaMoni
