Just stopping by to say hello
Comments (15)Hi cAROL, I'm very sorry to hear about your husband's passing. It's nice to see you too! I'm only planting perennials right now. The containers aren't coming to me as fast as I'd like, so I'm slowly but surely getting my seeds planted. Trying a few new kinds and hoping they sprout. Mary, I enjoyed your story about the morning glories :). Most of the flowers I grow are for sentimental reasons so I can relate. Good to hear from you, cAROL! Don't be afraid to drop on by more often! We love hearing from you! Brad AKA Moonwolf...See MoreStopped in to say 'Hi'
Comments (5)Hi. I should be a lot busier but until the one section of fencing is replaced there's only so much that I can do. My deck and driveway are a disaster. Full of container plants with nowhere to go. I'd love to dig a new bed out front but can't figure out where to put it that wouldn't look terrible, besides that I don't have the energy to run the tiller and DH is busy at the farm after work. Comments (5)mom didnt get to make the butterfly garden she had to move again so now she has a big empty yard, she kept what she could in big pots like the crotons, bananas, 4 o clocks (i forget what else) and i adopted her mexican sunflower. im still growing some of everything.. i dont even know whats out there at this point.. i just go out with my coffee in the morning and find new things blooming, its hard to keep things organized b/c the landlord sends his people over to cut the grass and screw everything up, move things around, cut things down.. while i was in NJ they took my pineapples and ripped out flowers but left plenty of weeds - go figure. they also some how mananged to cripple 3 of my bananas. oh well its grows back! (i have to tell myself something right?? LOL) .. i now have 2 little owls hanging aroud at night ontop of the patio umbrella, and some little finch type birds. i dont remember what the plant was but it grew some tiny red berries and they rip them off every morning. so whens the next get together? i need something fun to do! (with out taking plants home HAHA!)...See MoreStopping by to say Hello
Comments (26)Hi, it's good to see more activity. Last year and the year before I collected a lot of translucent gallon milk jugs, but wasn't able to winter sow. I'm in zone 5a New England and hope to get some jugs planted this week. It's snowing now. Last year I used grow light inside and also just tended volunteers outside from the season before. Is there still a Winter Sowing FAQ or tips on getting started? i've been surprised at how long some of my -expired- seeds have stayed viable. last summer I also collected a lot of (mostly large flowered) clematis. I understand that it can take a few years for them to germinate. I planted some outside, but who knows what will happen. I have extra if anyone is interested. So where is that Beginner's link or FAQ? Thanks for info. ETA -- All set. I see it now at the top of the forum....See Moreval (MA z6)
