Is it left over from last season? Maybe from an inflo that you kept on it during dormancy? That sounds like its possible...

I have a seed pod on my J-105 from last year and it just " there" without any leaves as of now.. It will take another few months for it to mature.

They say it takes around nine months for the pd to ripen...

Leave it.. It not hurting anything.. It would be nice to see a pic of this pod.

Sometimes they do pop up, but its usually after the flowers have been pollinated .. So lets see a pic and then we can determine what going on!!

Cool! Yes, like Laura is saying, in order for the seedpod to grow it had to be pollinated when a flower was there so it had to have started the pod last year when the flower was there and it hung on to it through the winter when the plant went dormant. It won't hurt anything or stop your plant from growing to let it stay there and mature if you want the seeds or want to give them away. It also won't hurt anything if you want to cut it off, depending on how you feel about it.

I have 3 plumeria that look exactly like yours - no leaves but a big ole seedpod on it. Many have just not fully come out of dormancy but it is not due to the seedpod. I live in Texas and none of mine are fully leafed out - some close, but not fully - and many have not leafed at all and are just barely clawing. I don't think the seedpod takes anywhere near the energy from the plant that a forming inflo does. But again, if it makes you worry you can always cut it off. Do you have other plumeria? Just asking to see if they have leaves yet or not. Please let us know what you decide to do!

I have five plumerias but only one has a seed pod. All of them have leaves just coming out so maybe they are just slow this year. Last year during winter I left them outside under the cover patio instead of bringing the plants in the house. They kept most of their leaves,, I live in CA. I will keep the pod and see what it does.

Looks just like mine and others that had flowers that were pollinated last year. It will be fine...

That's why I always tell my friends to leave the inflo on because you never know what might happen!!! It a great feeling to see a seed pod!!

Keep an eye on it and when it gets larger and you see it starting to crack, put a knee hi around it to protect the pod from opening when your are not around causing the seeds to be lost...
