Well, surgery was yesterday and the doc said we have excellent results. She gave me pain killers, but so far no pain. It's behaving exactly as she said. Very light pink discharge. She said effects would be immediate. Finger's crossed. It's a 6 week recovery. She gave me premarin cream to use topically (no applicator) which she says aids healing. Even with insurance that stuff was $299.00!!

I'm supposed to use that cream for a couple more weeks. Doc says it aids in healing, so I'm hoping it does. I haven't noticed any difference in sleep or anything. Barely have a discharge now, so maybe it's working.

The drill for a month is NO exercise, but I can cook, and do my normal stuff. Not supposed to lift more than 10 lbs. I think my handbag weighs that. LOL! I still have no pain. Not taking the pain pills. I go back for post op check up in a week or so... 10 days.

OH! yesterday I choked drinking my bottled water and I didn't pee! Coughed hard. Yay! This surgery does work!!

Hi Suzi: I'm happy to hear that your surgery went well. Question: You mean the Premarin cream itself is $299 ?? The eye-doctor prescribed a tiny-eye-drop bottle (1/2 the size of regular eye-drop-bottle) ... that was for my kid's itchy eyes from allergy. After insurance, we paid $80 for that tiny eye-drop-bottle !!!! That didn't even work, since she refused to use it, and I ended up using it for my allergies (I wasn't impressed).

I don't blame folks for turning to alternative medicine, since they can buy cheap on Amazon. Lots of side effects with Premarin: "Stomach upset, nausea/vomiting, bloating, breast tenderness, headache, or weight changes may occur." I'm 52 but I didn't have any problems with menopause: no hot flash. I use soy milk, flax seeds (100 times more estrogen than soy). I also drink spearmint, that's high in estrogen & help with sleep. My parents used to have a huge garden filled with mint, they made tons of tea with that & dried spearmint leaves for the winter. It's funny how my Dad became smooth with that stuff: zero hair on his face nor legs !! That's from the estrogen in spearmint. PCOS women use spearmint to stabilize hormones: spearmint decreases testosterone, and increase estrogen. Spearmint also has double the magnesium of peppermint, thus great for sleeping. Cost of spearmint: $6 for a large tin on Amazon.

The prescription premarin cream was (in shock) $299. Unbelievable! Hubby paid for it. I could NOT believe the cost, so I'm using it. There are so many natural remedies that are not approved but have worked for thousands of years. We do have pretty good insurance, so we went with what the doc prescribed. So far, no side effects. Got acres of mint in this property. Didn't think of brewing tea with it. It just keeps our hill from sliding down.

Mom's dr. said all prescription creams are so high because they are trying to force us all to get part D drug coverage. Drug she got was cream that had sold for $35, jumped to over $300. Friend had ingrown toenail removed her Cost of the cream was $85. but it is supposed to heal better. Total cost was over $300. Ripping us off! $300 or so seems to be the golden price tag on creams & eye drops these days!

Big Pharma is determined to get it's chunk! Sad. The Premarin was $299 even WITH part D drug coverage. We have anthem blue cross supplemental. Most drugs are no where near that cost with part D.

Hospital made a nice gesture and called last night to see how I am feeling. I told her I never had any pain and am following the doc's recommendations. No pain? She was surprised. She asked if I have my follow up appointment soon, and I do. I was surprised the hospital called. They also gave me a thank you note signed by the nurses and anethesologist thanking me for choosing their facility when I checked out. The hospital was Loma Linda in Murietta, CA.
