Which seed do you find most intriguing?
Comments (24)I am intrigued by so many! I like the ones, such as Canterbury bells and rose campion, that pour from their little cups. I like balsam because after it explodes, the seeds are practically self-cleaning. All you have to do is pick out the little pod curls. I like the ones such as dill, Queen Anne's lace, and 4 o'clocks that sit on top of the stem and say, "Pick me! Pick me!" My favorite today is blackberry lily. They're so beautiful, easy to clean, and really do look like a little cluster of blackberries. The only ones I don't enjoy are the dusty ones such as strawflower and ageratum because they're nearly impossible to clean. pitimpinae, on the petunia seeds ... after the pod opens, I pinch it off at the base, usually with the little green spikes attached (not leaves but the green at the base of the pod ... don't know correct name) and put them in a small bowl or cup. I leave them for a day or so and swish the pods around a few times. Then I pour them through a small strainer with a bowl under it. All those seeds, including the ones that stuck to the green spiky things just pour into the bowl. I wouldn't have the patience to tie them the way you do....See Morewhich burner do you use the most?
Comments (33)At "home", growing up it was the left front burner for proximity to the counter and sink - right side of stove was against the refrigerator (hated that setup). And usually the right side burners were covered with pots and pans for storage. Had a small kitchen with 2 small cupboards in it. First apartment I started with the right front, since there was nothing to the left of the stove and the second apartment was reversed but I cooked on whatever. In the house I've used the right front primarily, front left is the second burner used and the back burners used for warming or when I needed additional burners only. Now the new stove has different sized burners but still is front right the larger, as is the rear left and the front left and rear right are small burners. But I use what I need and cook. This isn't like a gas stove that needs to match the pan size so much. My cookware distributes heat well and the 3 qt saucepan covers the larger burner fairly well too so I don't obsess over it. And the Nesco, convection oven, oven or microwave might also be in use so it's whatever gets the job done for me....See MoreWhich brands carry base cabinets with 24'W/18'D drawers?

Comments (22)I was on my way to having a corner cabinet that opens to the back of the peninsula, like my old layout. Knowing how it was used before, and how it was used in the house I grew up in (which didn't even have an overhang getting in the way) I decided I'd rather take whatever storage a super susan could give me on the work side of the peninsula. In our torn out kitchen, that cabinet held a coffee roaster, deep fryer, and easy bake oven. 2of the 3 are out the door. The third will fit in our pantry and mixing bowls and measuring cups will likely take up residence in the newly accessible corner. The super Susan or lazy susAn debate was solved for us when we got our cabinets off Craigslist. We took what was offered. The door is hinged in the middle, and we've tried it out in its future position next to the range and it worked out just fine....See Moreannkh_nd
