weird leaves on my plumeria

yes I am new to this forum but I was wondering with my plumeria the young leaves are coming out leathery and wrinkled while some of them are coming out beautiful I was wondering if this is because of mites or over fertilizing or what may be causing this.I live in the San Francisco Bay Area

Stu, it is likely due to some sort of insect based on what you posted. I would treat with neem oil or a 3 in 1 type product. Others who have the time spray the whole tree down several times a day for a week with water to knock off the insects and eggs.

Yeap, I agree. The tree is suffering like a tight foot in a small shoe! Those leaves will eventually fall off if the stress continues. My Petite Negra is in the ground and the leaves are huge! I've been picking figs about every 2 weeks or so. Do what Herman2 said or upsize your pot. Your tree will thank you for it! Cheers, Dennis

Looks to me like typical leaf stress. Many many variables involved in the cause. The majority of its leaves look good so maybe just continue or slightly enhance your typical care and observe. Good luck with it.

Sometimes you get a cutting with an inflo. As long as it looks healthy I let it flower. If it's claws aren't developing I'll cut the inflo but if yours is putting out roots I'd leave it be and enjoy the blooms.
