Wonder why you all are having trouble viewing the pix. Since I could not choose more than one file at a time under "Image file to upload (optional): ", I went to Photobucket and put in urls from there. When I checked the preview myself they came up fine. It has been unseasonably cool and wet here. Maybe that's it. A couple of weeks ago I sprayed around with Roundup using a wand and being very careful to stay away from plants on a nonwindy day. Have done this years before and nothing like this ever happened. Am wondering, too, if it is fungus. Will try removing affected stalks/leaves and spray with fungicide although ? of its help. The next few days will be partly cloudy during the daytime and then showers starting around 4-5 p.m. and temps peaking then in high 70's even to low 80's. Not good weather for the poor plants.

Im trying to figure this out also they have a hard shell some are glossy with a gold stripe on there back they started invading my apartment i think they come from the desert landscape at my apartment im in Henderson and have ask other people nobody seems to know are even heard of them they love crawlingon the stucco then squeeze there way thru my window

If you're worried, just isolate it in a separate container. Use a lid that would not let a wasp or fly escape. I wouldn't kill it. The worst that will happen is a little creature will emerge.

A photo would definitely help but I doubt what you are describing is any kind of fungus. First fungus is not "removable" in the common context (other than by pruning out) but an insect known as scale is. Scale - of which there are many kinds - is typically a hard-shelled sucking organism that if present in sufficient populations can cause the decline and often ultimately the death of infested plants. Scale is not the easiest insect pest to control - those hard shell casings prevent contact with a lot of insecticides and/or predators so timing is key. Once you have identified the specific insect (by posting photos here or Googling) you can then research the correct timing during the lifecycle to apply an appropriate insecticide.
