Comments (22)Iris gal I have been searching for Honey Dijon and can't seem to get it. I am also looking for Cafe grafted. All the rose companies say she doesn't do well on own root. Do you mind sharing where you bought Honey Dijon? And does anyone know how I can get a grafted Cafe? Thanks. Your flowers are amazing!!!!!!!...See MoreBusy week and waiting for the rain
Comments (10)Thank you all for comments. mantis: I am thinking because we are zone 6 gardens perhaps Rambunctious Rosie would provide taller scapes in a climate/zone like Judy D. has.I love the bloom. I couldn't imagine getting 40 inch scapes here and mine appear about 24. Not a bad comment, just stating the possibility that zones 7/8 with more rain/watering might produce better results for this particular cultivar. However, I will note that Mean Green, What's Up Down South, Ribbit Ribbit, Make It Snappy, Boss Lady, and more that I have here get closer to the registered height and all purchased from Judy D.. Very odd that RR is the odd one out. Just my thoughts. Another hot day for us here with little rain yesterday evening but it did help cool us down a bit. Seems most of the storms was more south of us. More storms predicted for this afternoon but we shall see if we get more rain out of the next one. My son came so he could help with projects that I nor my husband could do by ourselves. Outdoor steps needing repair, maple tree we have grown for 20 years had to be taken down due to disease, my 10 year old butterfly bush died so he got that dug out and believe me the root system on it was huge and the list goes on. He does come every couple of months to help us as well as my daughter but also just to visit since they both live out of state. Honestly, my son is not allowed to help in the garden. Definitely does not know the difference between a weed and perennial or annual....See MoreSO much rain! What can I still plant?
Comments (9)I had issues with some Hosta I tried to plant in the rain. Better off potting them and waiting for drier weather. Absolutely crazy weather this year - Freeze followed by flood followed by fire - upper 80s here the past weekend and today. Not great weather to be waiting for Hosta deliveries (or planting). Luckily two shipments made it on Friday/Saturday, but one still in transit after being mailed last Monday. Fingers crossed. I have been using the frost blanket squares I cut to protect from direct sun on my new plantings. Just some plant stakes and clothes pins and viola....See MoreMondays daylilies before more rain
