Miss sherry, I only have one citrus tree actually planted in yard so far, it was here already and it's a Washington navel dwarf, and thought it was dead after all the freezes last winter and all the cats eating leaves,but recently a few shoots of new leaves started growing out from root, original tree (it's tiny) is all dead wood so idk what's going on with the new stems popping up, they are kind of on side right next to the "dead" stems. I need to plant something and get it established before I get bombarded with eggs next summer! Thanks for the coffee suggestions!! I always have coffee around so will try tomorrow!! Thanks again everyone!! So far looks like all of the cats are okay with the lime, had a few that wandered around for a few hours, I guess looking for lemon leaves. Lol, I had one 5th instar a while back, moved him indoors to feed him older satsuma leaves and leave new growth on lemon for the little cats, he had just molted into last instar, and anyway, moved him in, he didn't eat satsuma leaves or the orange leaves I tried and then he made his sling and pupated, never even purged, never ate one bite after molting last time, but he eclosed just fine and flew right off after a couple hours!! Guess he just didn't like change! �;-) I swear there must kit be a ctrr

TOO MUCH WATER This is almost alway a problem for us northerners because our trees must be able to take a few days with out watering on our hottest days. Here is what I do that works wonders and makes it possible to leave my tree alone for 4 days in upper 90F weather in the summer.Both tangerine trees are 49 weeks old from seed sprout. I use a shop vac plug into GFI now to protect from water that might drip from pot. My trees are also now permanently place on the vacuum chamber bucket for the cold season 'no setting up necessary". 10 seconds morning 10 seconds evening brings me close to my tree 2 times daily to catch problem while they are small. \vacuum chamber hold pot off cold floor. I mulch the surface to hold down evaporative cooling. A fan will do a fantastic amount to draw moisture from the leaves. This will draw much more on the water in the soil. Works best with leaves on the tree before they drop. Don't change your soil now but wait till spring and use what I am using to get you through the winter.

What mix is your tree potted in? How long has it been in that mix. None of my kumquats show deficiencies and I feed them the Peters fertilizer, Oscomote Plus, and FP once in a while. I have no issues whatsoever. I had a tree that I adopted from my neighbor that had been potted in potting soil for a year plus. It showed deficiencies regardless of what I did. A few months ago, I removed all the potting soil and put it in 5-1-1. Although the old leaves are not "corrected", the new growth looks healthy. You may not be able to fully correct those older leaves, but if you start feeding it correctly and put it in a good mix, the new growth may be normal, which a good indicator of the tree's current health.
