True Geranium seeds: hard to grow?

(not pelargonium)

I
just saw seeds offered on a site; they had varieties I’ve never seen. I’m not
much a seed-grower. My indoor efforts have never worked out, so the only seeds
I plant now are outdoors and pretty fool-proof.

I
have some unknown geranium in a spot in my yard where grass no longer grows
(might be Geranium macrorrhizum) that is doing great, so I think I have a good
environment for it. Those were rooted cuttings or divisions from a plant swap,
though. But I have a large area to cover, so seeds tempt me. I could start them
in a holding bed so they didn’t get washed out. Though direct sowing would be
my first choice.

Thanks!
