eastbay10, I mention the Okna & Sunrise as those are the two that I've seen on this site as quality sliding patio doors that I may consider. However, my preference would be wood clad and french doors. I'm glad that you gave me information on the screens. I'll look into those too. What do you think about Anderson & Pella? I also may look at Provia although I know that there's is not wood but my entry door is made by Provia. Thanks for your prompt response.

Check other comments on Pella. Enough said. Over priced for what you get. Andersen 400 is very average. In other words, there are better and there are worst. Like a lot of things in life, you get what you pay for.
I would set a budget including installation and go out and look at as many as you can. What is it you like and don't like in your current door? That may be a good starting point in the search for your new door.

I'm back I've eliminated Pella, Most likely staying with wood so that eliminates Okna & Sunrise (although the prices were affordable). I have quotes on Anderson 400, Marvin & Weather Shield Signature Series. What I haven't decided on is slider vs hinged (French) doors. Does anyone have information on Weather Shield, Signature Series the price is the lowest of the three and looks good. The dealer says it's a good door but I can't find too many reviews on them. While I like Marvin it's pricey so if Anderson is not good alternative what do the experts out there recommend,

Andersen would be in the middle of those two in my opinion with anything Weathershield well down the food chain.

millworkman Is there a product between Marvin & Andersen that would be an option? Should I reconsider getting a wood door and going with a vinyl patio door?

I would go with one of your original vinyl choices personally over the Andersen. But the Andersen is not a bad door at all.

Millworkman, I got another Marvin quote and is not too much higher than Andersen for the Integrity Line. Would you still recommend that I go with Okna/Sunrise or should I consider installing the Marvin Integrity. With so many good reviews/comments for the Marvin I would consider going with Marvin Integrity even its a bit more than the Andersen but I want to make sure that it's worth the extra money spent when compared with either the Okna.

The vinyl guys may chime in differently but the Okna would be my choice all day on that one.

nydio, what are your priorities for the door? That will really dictate wood vs vinyl. I install both Marvin products, as well as Okna and some other vinyl lines, and the right answer really lies in what you want out of the door. If the rich feel of real wood is at the top of that list, it is hard to beat a wood door. If you want something very airtight and efficient, the high end vinyl lines are hard to beat. I will say that while I generally like the Integrity line as a reasonably priced wood interior option, I installed a sliding door recently that has a bit more air leakage than my client liked. Upon replacing a few parts, it improved a little bit, but ultimately it was determined that the performance was as expected. Conversely, some of the tighter sealing vinyl doors take a little more effort to operate due to all of the weatherstripping and tight tolerances. I'd recommend checking out some displays to really get a good idea of the look and feel... If by chance your primary reason for wanting a wood interior is the ability to match a stain color, Okna does have a stainable interior laminate as well. The Sunrise is another good vinyl door.

I went to see the Okna and Sunrise and after seeing them I've decided to stay with wood. I'm having difficulty getting the Marvin dealer to get me a revised quote for the Marvin (not Integrity) patio door. I have a quote for the Andersen 400 series and a new quote for the Andersen A Series. Installed the A series door is $4889 for a slider. Is that a fair quote? While I wait to get an estimate on the Marvin can you let me know what you think about the Andersen A Series?
