I need help with my kitchen layout!
Comments (2)I'm kinda dense tonight, is the layout you posted the way you want it to be or the way it is now. The pantry is moved to the left of the FP? Good. The desk is gone? Good Fridge should move to where you have the pantry drawn now. Is the sink in front of a window in that drawing? If not and the window is to the left, over that open counterspace, I would move the sink and DW over and give yourself more room between the sink and the corner to the range. Code says ranges/venting can't be near opening windows. Just check your local codes. Just my first glance thoughts....See MorePlease help with my kitchen, which plan do you think?
Comments (7)The dining room table seems nice in either location to me, but I think the pool table makes a lot more sense in the top left corner of the planned layout, in that space that is totally open to the living room. Pool, to me, is a fun hangout group activity. Where though not everyone may be playing, you still want to be able to talk to everybody who isn't playing and watch whatever is on TV with them between shots. Or yell at them to get up and come play or whatever. Usually if you are eating at the formal dining table, everyone present in the house is sitting down together, so that table doesn't really need to be very open to another room where nobody is anymore. That said, your current plan and planned plan are so extremely different (the foyer and stairs disappeared, the outline of the whole house has changed, walls have moved, fireplace is entirely different, etc. that I can't really tell what has happened or suggest modifications to those changes. It looks like it's just a totally new house...See MoreCould you help us decide which countertop is best for our kitchen?
Comments (20)Jen, that one is beautiful! (Look at the nabi line on tilebar. they have a color called Arctic Blue that would be so pretty w/that. I like the Harlequin line or the Jewel line in that color. You can order some samples now if you like. you get 5 for $5) https://www.tilebar.com/nabi-jewel-arctic-blue-crackled-polished-ceramic-tile.html This is the Jewel. comes in other colors like this natural white too Harlequin line: If choosing any blues, make sure it's a blue gray that leans toward the purple side of the color spectrum, not the green side. See the lower right tiles and those diff shades? all of them would work. The darker ones in a slate tone also look good. don't be afraid of something w/a pattern. your slad is getting cut to 24". It won't be half as busy looking as it does full slab. try a sample of the Cadenza line too. they also have a Wales Gray that will work....See MoreI need help finding a kitchen sink for a 24" base cabinet
Comments (6)Typically a 24" sink will fit in a 24" cabinet. The 24" measurement includes the flange and so the width you really need is usually about 22". Sink manufacturers will typically say it requires a 27" cabinet because the side clips need some room. Even an amateur can get around that. The clips hold the sink tight to the counter and keep it from moving, so you can install the front and back clips and just ignore the sides, the sink isn't going anywhere. If you want the sides for some reason you can notch out the cabinet sides and install the clips, it's not really that hard. You don't need straps for a drop-in sink. Straps support undermount sinks, flanges support drop-in sinks....See MoreRelated Professionals
