Mongo: Questions about your beautiful bathroom!
Comments (2)The toilet "cubby" space is a bit over 40" wide. The tall cabinet is 48" tall (excluding countertop thickness), about 15-16" wide, and 33-34" deep. As to the two pullouts, the top drawer is wired for electricity, my wife keeps hair dryer/curling iron, etc, in there permanently plugged in. Although the cabinet is 30+ inches deep, I have a false back in the upper part with a hidden chase behind the false cabinet back. The rear compartment gave me room for running the wires and installing the junction boxes for the outlets that "power" the drawer's contents. So the top drawer is only about 22" deep. The taller bottom "drawer" is indeed sectioned vertically, it's more like a pull-out pantry. On the side facing the sink, the shelves are maybe 4-5" deep, think of it as a medicine cabinet. Small bottles, etc. The side facing the toilet, the shelves are deeper, 5-6", deep enough for rolls of TP, cleaning supplies, etc. I have the bottom pullout on 30" full extension slides for easy access. The cabinets are birch ply and poplar. Mongo...See MoreQuestion about bathroom vanity light fixture
Comments (4)I don't think you will have to worry to much. You could do 3 or 4 light and would be fine. I had been shopping also for a new light fixture and looking for ideas online I had even seen vanities with a single light light fixture and you would think it would look odd or undersized, but it actually looked fine....See MoreXpost from bathrooms - how width of bathroom makeup vanity
Comments (3)I think it will look fine either way....if it is lower, you have a dedicated/defined area as your makeup vanity. If it is the same height, that space may or may not be used as a vanity and will just become part of the overall sink area. Only you can decide which will work better for you. A counter-height stool COULD look a little strange in your bathroom and is not the norm, but if you like it that's all that matters....See MoreBathroom project re-starting. Question about vanity tower/ceiling
Comments (11)Thanks for all the feedback. Currently there is a fur down there that comes down about 24" from the 10' ceiling, and is 12" deep. I think I'll leave it like that because with the 9" deep tower, and the crown that will come up and out a little bit from the top of the tower, the 12" fur down will just be a couple of inches deeper than the tower. So it will be similar to the first picture and the third picture....See Morealexamorrie
