Need HELP with porch ceiling color Please!! Pics!
Comments (23)Antique.. I wouldn't consider a dark color, as I'm already worried about the porches making it darker inside. Hate to hear you had to learn this thru experience....ugh...painting ceilings is so hard!! Hartwood, I never thought about it coordinating with the inside color scheme.... but very good thought since I have transoms above all windows & doors. I love GW and am so thankful to have "cyber friends" to get ideas and advice from!!! I'm in north central AR and we've had a snow storm, so that essentially shuts everything down. Us southerners aren't used to it!! Hope everyone has a great weekend!...See MoreNeed help for leaking roof corners front porch
Comments (5)I may be able to post a photo. Briefly, I can see what the issue is from the ground. It is that the gutter takes a right angle turn (toward the front/street) along the 4' porch roof and ends against the front trim board (this white board trims the front of the peaked roof). It is just a small porch covered by a peaked roof. On both sides, the gutters run to the front of the porch and end against the trim board. There is nowhere for the water to go but leak to the ground through the crack there. So the trim board's paint is peeling and suffereing from so much water running against it. It seems that something is missing or the gravity is not taking the water to the end of the house down spout. I thought the roofers would take care of replacing any misplaced gutter or down spouts as part of the finished job. I do know who the contractor is but it has been 4 years, however, I remember there was a long guarantee period of time. It was a larger company recommended by the insurance company. I will see if I can post a photo. Thank you....See Moreneed help adding corner porch with hip roof gable

Comments (6)Remove the shutters they actually detract form the windows the house is such a mish mash of styles i would keep the front door a simple one painted the same as the house that entry has so much going on no need for anything else.IMO the front porch is all wrong for the house and I would remove it and replace the doors with a large window to make it look like it was never a porch.Sorry but the architect that designed this house should get another job....See MoreUser
