switching mouse button

I'm using the mouse with my left hand and can't get the switch to stay. Every time I sign on I have to go to Mouse Properties and switch, then click Apply, then OK, but next time it's back to right-hand. Anyone know of a fix for this? TIA

My Logitech mouse occasionally used to revert inexplicably from one of my assigned button settings. I seem to have fixed it by downloading and installing the latest version of Setpoint from the Logitech web site.

Just so I have something to think about, are you using one of the generic Windows drivers or did you install dedicated software? The brand and model?

Win7, no dedicated software. Logitech LX3 optical mouse.

Light switches are an easy change out as long as you have a good understanding of electricity and a healthy respect for it. I would, although, recommend getting a good "Multi-meter" and learn how to use it properly. Our house was built in 1882 and, as far as I can tell, the electric was added some time in the 1920's. Some updates were done over the years by PO's, not all necessarily done correctly. I've found a couple of instances where one of the PO's switched the polarity when hooking up part of the circuit so that the white wire, which should be the "Common" or "Neutral", was the "Hot" side. Not all the wiring was done this way, just enough to make things interesting. What I'm trying to say is test everything before you grab onto it. Don't take it for granted that it was done properly by the last person.

Hi gmangia.. Mine is to the right of the faucet. It's fine there but I wish it was just to the right a bit more. The reason is that whenever my hands are wet from sink use, and I go to turn off my faucet, my wet hands drip water all over the air switch button. This isn't a huge deal, but I don't like that it is wet, so I wipe it dry. Here's a pic..As you can see, the handle of the faucet is right above the air switch.. Oh well..Maybe you can benefit from my error..I will live with it. KA:)

If yiu are running a MicroSoft operating system, go to the control panel and open the "printers and Device" panel. (Older MS systems may have a separate icon for the mouse.) Choose the mouse device (click on it, may require a double click) and then select the mouse type/make you have installed. Fish around in the mouse's setup or adjustment panel to find a button preference. In Windows 7, it will be called primary and secondary button choice. That's the same as left and right button. Look for a choice to interchange the buttons. After making the interchange, click on the "apply button" or what ever it may be named. If you do not "apply", the new setting will disappear on closing the configuration panel.
