Abe is beautiful too and I also get more peach tones or more pink tones depending on the weather on Abe. He was my favorite and is still one of my favorites. Boscobel is less commonly available. So if I had to pick only one it would be tough but I would prob pick to buy Boscobel from the DA site because Burpee and everywhere was selling Abe the last few years. Certainly it is a personal opinion but I'd put the purple leaf plum at the bottom of the list (together with ALL of the cherries). It is an inexpensive tree produced in bulk - often favored by developers for that reason alone - and like many of the Prunus species, short lived and prone to a lot of disease and pest issues. It generally produces very little fruit so that is much less of a concern than all the problems it could encounter. I'd pick between the lilac, the shantung maple, the hornbeam, the linden or the zelkova.

Yeah I've talked to George. He recommends some pole bean types. I haven't had much luck with pole beans. I think you recommended some Hungarian variety last year. which I was able to get from ebay but they failed probably because of weather conditiions. My success with Dwarf H last year was probably just the luck of the draw. I usually plant beans around early to mid May , well after any late frosts here. Okie HU
