Comments (15)The window order came in on monday less than four weeks from ordering altho 8 windows are on back order not sure which ones. I am assured by next Wed. latest. We are having the dealer store them for a couple weeks until roofing is finished we have been having major rain delays. From what I could see of the windows in the warehouse they are beautiful. I am regreting the unfinished interior as I will have to prime and paint. I will post pictures if I can figure out how to do it. This is after I track down the dupont flex flash and make sure the installers know how to use it. We have used Zip-Panels for exterior sheathing and are wondering if we should have used tyvek instead. All of this is so installation intensive and since I am at the mercy of the installers... Thank you to all who have posted to help my decision....See MoreSunrise/Integrity by Marvin/Kolbe/Hurd
Comments (8)I'm going to have to disagree with FT here. The all-ultrex Integrity offers no benefit whatsoever over a quality vinyl unit like the Sunrise. The Sunrise will have significantly better thermal and structural ratings, besting it in pretty much every objective area. Subjectively, most folks find it more appealing as well (I don't think that I've EVER heard anyone call the all-ultrex Integrity a good looking window).... and this is coming from someone that sells Marvin and Integrity, but not Sunrise. The wood/ultrex Integrity is a great option for people that want a window interior. If you don't, it is hard to beat quality vinyl, or even thermally broken aluminum in your neck of the woods....See MoreMarvin Integrity vs. Milgard Ultra - HELP!
Comments (3)I just purchased Intergrity WOod/Ultrex. Make sure and look at these windows vs the all Ultrex (they look much better, inside and out). I have a cashmere finish (kind of tan) and have not noticed the color difference, I think the Ultrex is kind of off green, not white. Video of construction below. These windows really look good. Comments (6)One thing to consider is the dealer network in your area. For me, Loewen has only one dealer close by, and the next nearest is about 40 miles away. If the one close-by goes out of business, and I've bought from them, and I have a problem, I am now having to turn to a dealer quite far way, with no one else to go to. I believe Loewen has a strong presence in the northwest and west, so check for your location. For my area, Marvin is very well represented, so that was a factor in my decision. I am not really familiar with Kolbe. As to DF, I was told DF is stronger, but that difference will only become apparent in 20 years or so. If you are going to be painting your trim, so don't need to see the wood grain, then DF should not be a deciding factor. I'd go with the contractor I like best and who seems to do the best work....See MoreWindows on Washington Ltd
