Window treatments for short windows

My house is an 80s split foyer with short (36") windows in a downstairs bedroom. The windows are also 36" wide which is an additional challenge: I can find 48" long blinds but not in wider widths.

Currently there are ancient horizontal mini blinds.

I'd like to replace them with roman or cellular shades.

I would like room darkening both to block light sources at night (one window gets a street lamp and another a neighbor's back deck light) and to eliminate glare on the TV during the day. I'd prefer cordless so as not to give the cats a playtoy.

Most of what I'm finding are 72" long which doesn't look right when the blinds are shut--too much material piled up at the bottom.

I also don't want to spend a fortune (who does?)

I found instructions for DIY roman shades made out of mini blinds which is probably the most practical solution, especially since I already have the blinds, but I'm not very crafty and would prefer something pre-made if I can find it.

Suggestions on what to get and where to get it?
