bees in my card table...
Comments (1)They're sucking up the water on the leaves. You can dispose the table in late evening when bees are at home, they can find water somewhere else or you can give them a dish out with water and rocks/gravel in it so they don't drown....See MoreLamps for the MBR -- Part 2 New lamp home on trial basis
Comments (31)Loribee--That is a beautiful room. It looks like a magazine picture. I was at Home Goods today and saw similar lamps. So, speaking of Home Goods, I bought a black lamp there just to try for color and shape. If I would keep this lamp, I would have to buy a new shade because the shade that comes with it has a silver and black design on the inside and when the lamp is lit, doesn't provide much light in the room. Then I stopped at Goodwill and actually found a lamp I had looked at last week was still there!! I like this lamp (for $7.00!!) and will keep it regardless of whether or not I use it in the bedroom. It, of course, didn't come with a shade or even a harp, but I'd rather choose my own shade anyway. Please note, the shade I put on the lamp is just one from another lamp around the house and I know it is too small. I know many are encouraging me to go with a pop of color with the lamps, but there's still a part of me that likes the soft, relaxing cream and black in the room. Also, I think the pictures don't show the true relation of the size of the headboard to the size of the lamps. The two I just posted are both around 28" tall and seem pretty good to my IRL eye. Any opinions on the latest two choices???...See MoreGuest house...coffee table or dining table?
Comments (33)Olychick...I saw those table/murphy beds and like them. But since I'm using all the space for working out on the floor when guests aren't there, it would get in the way. I have a very similar look full size murphy bed in the 2nd bedroom in the main house...which is my office but I can turn down the small murphy bed there too. It looks a lot like your photo...bright white with silver handles...people keep pulling the handles, thinking they are drawers... I should say, the main house has a master bedroom and a bedroom I've turned into an office but have the above murphy bed for emergencies. My husband passed away recently so it is just me and my dog. I spent the last whole year remodeling this house from the ground up..it is right on the beach with big ocean views from every window. The house is such that I have "private space" for my master and bath so people can come in the kitchen and living room without bothering me. I get a lot of company during the summer. Annie...your comments make me think I should put a second small dresser in the room just for the dresser top...But I use the laptop in bed or on the sofa for cards/tv. So nobody thinks the sofa is a good idea? It is a tight fit....See MoreSource for Fitted Card Table Cover, Inverted Pleated Corners??
Comments (26)Olychick, that burlap site is cool! I thought a 30" x 60" runner would work, as it would practically cover the table top and hang down 13 inches on two sides---but it is $169! I can get the burlap and have one made with pleats at the corners for that, just not by the 14th :( But with the white cover I have ordered I think I'll run up to Atlanta this weekend and buy burlap or something else that I can just cut a 34" square from and fringe the edges. I know I can do that! Now the fun begins.... I have mostly everything in services for 12 and now we have 14, so that one table will have to have different everything. Botheration! (This is why I love to entertain at Christmas, I have enough buffet plates for the whole town!)...See Moremaddielee
