What to put above kitchen window

I would like some help in finding a unique piece of decor for above my kitchen window. The cabinets will be 36" tall, cinnamon stained cherry with a mocha glaze ( that may not be a consideration at all). The wall is 8 ft vaulting to 13 ft in the adjoining open floor plan family room. My window will be 36" by 36". The window, including trim will be about 42" above the counter leaving an area of about 35 x 18 tall between the upper cabinets. I plan to use cobalt blue for an accent color. I would like some opinions on something colorful and unique to put in that space. Any ideas?

How about a piece of trellis cut to fit and painted in your blue (or a milder shade of blue that coordinates? Or some basket weave tiles?

Sorry it was hard to understand. have a few little tape marks where I've measure, but still having a little trouble visualizing. I may go back to the wall and tape the whole thing out w 2 different sizes to see if I can get a better idea or perhaps knuckle down and try to sketch out my own elevation. Also had a wacky idea perhaps to try to fold a piece of cloth or sheet to the right size and tack it up there.

I like awning windows over a sink since you can eliminate the vertical bar for an unobstructed view. A 72" width or 60 is going to be a width that only few manufacturers can do. What material do you want (wood, vinyl, etc.)? Another thing with awnings is that the operator is centered on the bottom so there needs to enough room between faucet (usually centered) and the crank operator.

Horizontal art, nearly as wide as the firebox. Not too tall. A watercolor in subdued colors to complement your room. I agree on the squeezed up appearance, especially in picture #1 and the light colored chair. It seems that this chair should be slid back towards the viewer by a couple of feet at least. Or angled across the corner of the rug. Is there a reason why the tv and its console look jammed into the corner? Their placement limits the functionality of that cabinet.

What is the style of your kitchen and adjoining family room? Traditional, modern, transitional?

if you have a small collection that's special to you--plates, vases, mason jars--that might be a nice place to display them:

I would probably do a roman shade, hung from the top of the cabinets and a cobalt blue barn light type pendant.

If had a wall light option, something simple like this is more my taste; sculptural and not cluttered:
