Why can't I grow vigna caracalla? Can you?

Hi Everyone

I'm in z11 and took a while to get my hands on the gorgeous pink, cream, purple, yellow, fawn and white fragrant Corkscrew Vine - vigna caracalla (not vigna phaseola which is just purple and white, not fragrant, and usually called Snail Vine).

I killed my first Vigna Caracalla within a year. It just went from deep green leaves to pale, transparent leaves to... dead. So I decided to try again. And the exact same thing is happening this time too! Mr VC is such a grumble-bum.

He doesnt seem to like anything I do: full sun or dapple shade / 511 potting mix or just straight potting soil... he doesnt seem to like anything I feed him...and apparently isn't partial to being starved.

Pic of said grumpiness attached.

I'm just wondering if anyone is growing a Vigna Caracallathat is thriving... and if so would they mind onpassing their gardening practices where Vigna is concerned...
