I pick as the need and leaf are there. I'm sure there are others who will say specific times are required. You'll want good quality, healthy leaves. Skip the old, "tired" looking leaves. Dry them. Use for tea by themselves or in combination with other herbs, as needed. FataMorgana

I looked at Kardinal on an image search and some of them look red, but some look pink and some look more orange. I think the camera, the culture, and the lighting conditions influence the photographs so it's hard to tell which is really true red. I used to have an American beauty growing up, I thought it was really red, but now I read it's on the pink side. It was not a hybrid tea, it was more like a big huge bush with red roses on it. It's probably good to go to rose shows and nursery to see them in person before selection a color that is the red that you want.

to be honest in the wild all the mulberry trees I've seen from the Carolina's to Pennsylvania are black fruiting. I'm propagation some cuttings of my wild mulberry now it bears huge crops of nice size black mulberries and will happily trade you 1 rooted cutting in a pot for something you might have that's already rooted. I'm mainly interested in figs, pawpaw's, pecans, English walnuts, wild plums, and pomegranate trees. please let me know what you have.

I wish I could post pictures, Chris, but I don't have that capability. Actually, my kitchen is small but it does have space for a table and 4 chairs, and a built-in buffet with cabinets above. As I said, the walls are red and the backsplash is black and white checks. All appliances are white, as is the countertops. There is a white rectangular rolling cart in front of the sink and it has white ceramic tiles on top. The dining table is antique -- dark oak -- and the French-style chairs are pale yellow with seats covered in a small black and white checked-fabric. The floors are wood laminate. I want a French bistro feel and I know I need to accessorize with red, but when I look at the home decor stores, I become overwhelmed. Every French kitchen needs a rooster and I have one -- a big fat white rooster with black specks and red comb. He sits on top of the refrigerator alongside a copper pot filled with ivy (real). I'm not sure what I should use as a centerpiece on the table or the buffet which sits directly in front of it. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
