The reason I ask is we are creating living space in a mostly finished basement that has a drop down ceiling. I had a few contractors I met with tell me I should really considering leaving the ceiling, especially considering the possibility for plumbing issues (leaks) down the road. We really just are unhappy with the look, so will be drywalling it. We are updating some HVAC and electric, but since there were no plumbing issues, we hadn't considered it. We just hadn't budgeted that money, and have some very large projects we are undertaking. I just can't help but wonder if I will regret it later for the relatively small cost ($3000) when compared to the full cost of all the renovations.
