Hi Rosies- Someone asked how old my roses are, well, some are 30-35 years old, the Dons are old, also Queen Elizabeth, also Summer Snow (there are 6 of them) also China Dolls, 6-7 of them in the front, others are 10-15 years old.... they are mostly all on Fort. I have some new OGRs from FSC, on Fort. also, certified virus-free due to their heat-treat program, planted this time last year and they are going like gang-busters, right out of the gate they surge and Cl. Devoniensis is 15 ft.tall, Mrs. BR Cant is right up there, I'll see if I can attach another pic of that bed..the bed in the front on the left is KOs, the OGRs are further on w/the new walkway thru' the center... Cal took these pics in April and they have grown a lot more since then..thanks , sally

That's not Purple Splash in that photo, but PS is a GREAT rose in my estimation, so do get it. The picture above is of a bloom on a seedling that is 3 inches tall -- it just sprouted a few weeks ago from a seed I took from an established Purple Splash plant that a friend of mine grows. This was the little plant's first flower. I happened to be in my friend's yard when he had not deadheaded, took custody of a bunch of ripe hips from the plant, and processed them and grew that one from a seed. That bloom is only an inch wide, as maybe you can tell from my fingertips, which are also in the photo.

Not disputing Pink's advise but the clogged filter is not good but most fires I have read about or seen (neighbor had one) is from the vent being clogged with lint. Dryer sheets do make the vent sticky and the lint builds up worse in the pipe. Need to blow it out about once a year OR every six months depending. If yours is short, there will not be as much build up in it as with a longer run. Mine just goes from the back of the dryer straight out the wall behind it so I don't really worry about using sheets but I use liquid 90% of the time. About my neighbor, the girls Mom had been there and cleaned house and did the clothes. She left to go home and left the last load of clothes drying. It overheated due to the vent(mashed) they said, but were very lucky. The house didnt catch fire, just very badly smoked. The guy that lived there came home before it blazed up. The smoke was so bad he couldn't see when he opened the door but he crawled and got to the switch box and could tell the main breaker--anyway killed the power cause dryer was still running, then got to a fire extinguisher cause he looked for a blaze any minute. The clothes were burned. I really dont know why it didnt blaze, just timing I guess. It was a Speed Queen dryer too. It was so bad they couldn't stay there and Serve-Pro came in and cleaned everything. Some stuff the Ins replaced best I remember.

No, it is coming from South Florida, Cool Roses. It is all in fortuniana rootstock. Pam sells also. DA recommended her Bec hers is own roots and organic .And DA in Texas is a choice of Own roots and bare roots. I was leaning about roots. What grows here and what was recommended. Trust me I was extremely confused. So, reading so much I tumble on Viraraghavan's site. I put it off for months. But, I started googling on roses that people grow in my zone and compare to Arizona and higher zones like Miami and islands. Types of roses lead me to your forum that was so breathtaking. Names, I never saw in Home Depot and Lowe's. So, I wanted those roses and I read here and there and more. The day, I signed up Houzz when I introduced myself..that is maybe 5 months ago...more or less. I was taken back by all you guys. So happy to join. It was like every rose you showed I love . So, I Google more about roses non stop. Beautiful homes and Beautiful gardens. So, I did research on Antiques Rose's... love them. So, I finally ordered them. Yup and more coming in March. Jeff from Cool Roses is coming here to Leu Gardens so to save me shipping. He will bring it along . Also save me from driving 2 hours 1 way to see him. Trust me, I am so grateful to him , I can give him a hug... lol. I am ordering way more from KnM and whoever has what I am looking. I make sure it grows in my zones. Think it is another 15 coming. So, I am going to wait and do my fence. And trellises and so much work . Than, I have to take a chair and look at my front yard. A huge, huge project. Thinking of putting white picket fence with more roses. Also looking at a rose trees ... But back to reality, my first batch is coming in. I hope they grow big and strong. My little babies...lol.
